My wife recently bought me a new 110 Pro for my birthday, with S30V blade, G10 handle, and Nickel bolsters, purchased directly from Buck.
Beautiful to look at and to hold. I have wanted this knife for some time now.

However, as soon as I pulled it out of the box I could see the blade centering was way off, maybe not technically touching the liner, but within the width of a sheet of paper from rubbing.
And after a little closer look, I could see that the tip of the knife, maybe the last 3/16" or so, is bent in the opposite direction of the off-center blade.
I seriously doubt it, but it looks almost intentional as if the tip was touching and then it was bent in a way so as not to rub.

In any case, it's going back to Buck.

Do you think they will replace the knife, or attempt to "repair" it?
I'm hoping for a replacement and am considering doing a return and then repurchase the same knife seperately.
Should I call first?
What would you do?

I would return it. Yes, call them. Send pics if they ask. They will most certainly replace it, not repair it. They will make it right for you, not to worry, and they will be snappy about it.

If you want fast turnaround, I'd buy another and return that one.

Buck will take care of it either way, however anytime I have returned for repair or replace it takes longer than I believe it should.

Almost 2 months to process a return last time. That's not cool.
It it were not for BCCI pricing, I would rather purchase from a dealer for that reason.

Whether you return it and buy a new one, or send it for repair, I'm sure Buck will make it right. I would return it, and replace it with the S30v bladed, Crelicam ebony version. But that is only because I prefer wood to G10.

O.B.

Do you have an example of the pricing? I havent seen much difference but want to verify.

Not wanting to violate deal spotting rules....

But there is a difference between retail, MAP, and BCCI pricing.

Enough of a difference that the savings on a 110 Pro w/ BCCI over MAP easily pays for BCCI membership for one year.

So all of this Walmart pricing is in violation? And BCCI get a better deal than that. Plus freight from Larry.

Walmart doesn't sell the 110 pro.

MAP doesn't seem to apply to them. Strangely enough.
Just like the discussion of pricing there doesn't seem to violate deal spotting policy here.

BCCI pricing on regular running line knives comes straight from Buck.
I've never bought anything thru Larry Oden.

There is obviously leeway on when Buck's rules apply and when they don't.
Just like re-seller policy/history.

I meant all the conversation of buck 110 pricing at Walmart. For some reason nobody ever wants to price a knife showing BCCI discount. Only talk about it. But pricing is discussed otherwise.
I believe Bcci is 50% discount from list price?
Military used to be the same but I'm not current on what either is. May of changed.
Two purchases a year using BCCI pricing?
I thought I heard BCCI discounts had to be purchased thru Larry O. I might be incorrect but have Google info this morning and the program is real vague online.

Your right, seems the programs are moving target.

Under MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) rules, Walmart, or any other retailer can sell you a standard Buck 110 for 1 cent...if they want. They just can't advertise it lower than $49.99 - according to the 2021 Buck Dealer Price List on BCCI. Dealers cannot show a price lower than MAP in printed ads or online. But if it's hanging on a hook in a store, or if you put one in your online shopping cart, you can see the lower price at checkout. I checked online and my 4 local Walmarts are out of stock on the 110. Bummer, I've yet to add a new ebony version to the collection. If I want to pay shipping, I can order one from Walmart for the below MAP price.

Old post.
As a Life Member, you can order any Buck (available at the time) from Larry Oden who is the Vice-President.
The deal is, Lifer's get the knife at cost or wholesale, (50% of retail as shown in the catalog) plus 10%. If your knife or knives are part of a larger order that Larry places, you will pay your part of the shipping from Buck to Larry and then shipping for your knives to you from Larry. If yours happens to be the only order from Buck to Larry at the time, you will pay the full shipping both ways.

You are also entitled to buy two knives per calender year direct from Buck through their "Pro Site". They give massive discounts as you can see from the screenshots of just a small part of the catalog pages below that show the Pro Site pricing. Be aware that the knives are not always available for purchase and may require you to wait for months to be able to purchase them.

That makes sense.
I've never thought of it that way, but you're perfectly correct!
Hence the "price in cart"...
Thanks.

I did see a page where I can join the Buck Collectors program for $20 a year.
I didn’t see any mention of discounted pricing.
Am I looking at the wrong page?

I think you have to go to the BCCI / Buck Collectors Club website. Pay the annual fee there.

The folks there don't do this for a living, so give them time to process your application. They will issue you a Member #, you can then take that info to Buck and they will add it to your account with them, assuming you have one. You can do this online, but I'm an idiot that way and someone at Buck helped me set it up over the phone.

BCCI pricing then shows up on Bucks website every time you log into your account. They have rules, they can be viewed on Bucks website.

The BCCI is pretty active on facebook, ( I don't do that) so you can probably ask questions there.... if you do that....
But again I think you have to apply to join in there as well.

Be patient. It could take a week or so for everything to go thru.
But once it's done, it's easy.

It's worth it as you can also access the Clubs info/ webpages.

I'll have to look up the other affiliates that qualify for Industry pro.
