Hey guys. I have always wanted to pick up a 110. I have had other variants of this knife in the case brand, but never in a buck.
I have a 112 buck that is fantastic that I have had since I was a young kid.

I was at Lowe’s earlier today, and purchased a 110 there with a gift card that I had. Upon opening up the package, I could hear the blade rattling as I was jostling the blister package around to get it open. When I pull the knife out there is so much slop that you can literally hold the knife in your hands and shake it and the blade bangs off the sides of the knife. On top of that the pins in the handle scale in the center are more like thumb studs. They are sticking up Quite higher than all of the rest. I will try to get a video of the rattling and how loose the blade is after I get home. I realize that there’s going to be some blade play but this feels loose enough like the blade would fall out if it didn’t have a pin through it.

Was I expecting to much here?

Take it back to the dealer for an exchange. If they won't help, send it to Buck warranty.

I picked it up at Lowe’s. Not a dealer.
I’m just really disappointed with this. I’ll get a video up here shortly

What you say is happening, should not be. I would either take it back to Lowe's and exchange it or sent it back to Buck. I believe it you try to take it back and for some reason that falls though I would call or email Buck and get a mailing label. Good luck!

I’m just having bad luck all around. I was trying to get ready to video and I dropped it on the cement floor!! Looks like I’m sending it to buck now. Not going to return a knife with scratches on it!

Ha. that's a shame, sometimes I feel if I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any at all:rolleyes:

Ask for spa also. They can buff the scratches out also. Get the knife back tight and better than new

I’m going to fill everything out online tonight. I’m not so concerned with the scratches as it’s going to get used. But worried about the looseness. I was so excited to get this and open it up and was instantly deflated. Now I have a ton of regret that I did not buy one decades ago when I had multiple opportunities.

hahaha. I dropped it when I was getting the camera ready with one hand and it was sitting on my leg. Then kaboom it hit and slid across the floor.

There is next to no blade play when it’s open. Feels nice and fairly solid. It’s just when closed the blade literally flops around. It will move with its own weight when the knife is turned.

Lowe’s is the easiest store I shop in to return goods. They will return to the vendor (Buck or a regional distribution warehouse, dependent on where they sourced it). The vendor will deal with it, you will have a new knife immediately upon doing the exchange. OH

No play when open is what makes the knife work. Keep it and use it.

Blade play when closed with a traditional lock back with a 3.75" blade at $44 is not a problem. Some like it loose, since it's easier to open one handed.

If you get two like that you can join a band as a maraca player :D

I've seen play but that is a little unusual. Probably safe to use but I would exchange.

The reason why I didn’t want to take it back to Lowe’s is because I dropped it on the ground and it’s scratched up now.

Lowe's wont care about the scratches. They'll get you in and out with a good one and you'll be happy. Just present your problem and select another package. Even ask if you can open the blister package while they wait for you to check it out for quality. They'll send the bad one back to Buck for credit and Buck will refurb and sell it. It's a win for you (new knife), Lowe's (you happy), and Buck (Lowe's happy).

Maybe I will try to stop there today and exchange it. I looked at the warranty turn around time and it said 6-8 weeks.
