NEW 531-1501 Dealer Exclusive

Something was telling me to check out REIs Benchmade page, and Im glad I did! Seems as though we have a new 531 in satin S30V

I was holding out for a steel upgrade over the regular 154CM 531.. Im planning on swapping these 531 S30V blades into my CF 530 scales.. I like the 531 blade profile better.

Im pretty much a sucker for any new 530/531 variant. They make great secondary-carry backups.

Crap! Exactly the steel upgrade I want on my 531! REI is walking distance!! I also kind of had a feeling REI was up to a new BM exclusive. Guess I have to sell my extra 531.

Love the design of the 531. I'm still hoping for a production M390 version (non-Gold class). S30V performs almost identically to 154CM in my experience.

S30V 531 blade in 530 LE carbon fiber scales.. Amazing configuration! I'm super happy with the outcome..

Anyone agree that a 531-1 would be awesome....?

I'm trying to see what the green looks like in reality. I was hoping someone would post a side by side photo. I have an REI a few blocks away. I may stop by later, it says online they have them in that store location.

We share the same Berkeley store Billy. My first Benchmade (from there...) was a 530 in 440C, followed years later with that LE S30V limited version in blue scales. There's an REI opening just down the street in March; can't wait!

Funny! My brother and his family are in Va Beach, he told me over Christmas that they were getting an REI. I used to work at the Berkeley store years ago, live real close.
I will get a side by side picture later today. I really missed out on the REI exclusive CF 530. I knew about the S30V exclusive but didn't really like the blue handles. I bought the last 551 exclusive but couldn't justify keeping it over my Ritters with Putnam G-10 scales.
This new 531 is calling to me, already have two 530s and two 531s!
