I got 3 new ag russell knives last week and was really impressed with the quality. Got this barlow, the rancher sodbuster and the small gunstock lockback. I had to send the gunstock back. Something was wrong with the lock. I could hardly get the knive closed, had to use the end of a toothbrust to push it in. I am sure he will make it right though.

Congrats w, on the new knives. The idea of a lockback barlow sounds cool for something different.

I'm not usually into/drawn to traditional style knives but I have to say that the Barlow caught my eye in the last few A.G. Russell catalogs. That's a sweet looking knife and I love the idea of the lockback being added. Congratulations.

I had the exact same problem with my small gunstock. Sent it back and the replacement seems to be working fine.

That´s nice looking knife. The swedges and the long pull make it a great looking. This AG Russell design really looks great.

Kind regards
Andi

I think it would look better if it was a slip joint. The lock sort of interrupts the flow of the handle, but I agree with Andi, the swedge and long pull really sells it.
