New about Aussie gun control success. Worth reading.

As a matter of fact, I've got an 18 inch kobra headed down under today.

Okay - WHERE can I have a look at a few piccys/some info on one of these - the idea of an 18" kukri really does it for me:-)

Bill - just looked at the Ang Khola 20 inch:-) I'm in love:-) Okay - NOW I know what I'm going to buy NEXT - that is one serious mother of a knife (figure I *might* have problems finding a rig for concealed wear for this baby though:-)))

I sent an AK down under to a "real" Crocodile Dundee and he told me it was the best bush knife period. Bar none. But I don't think it was a 20 incher.

I've got that deal going on a 20 incher with the split scabbard that you may want to look at.

John,

The AK's are great blades for local conditions, I have a 15in I carry everywhere out bush & an 18 incher that rides along in the 4WD for heavier work. I've bought about 7 khuks from Bill over the last few years. He's a great guy to deal with. Some of the parcels have been inspected by Aust. Customs but have all got through with no worries.

Go for it, you won't be sorry. :)

Bill,

Thanks for posting this info. I am writing my research paper (due last semester) on Gun Control and this is EXACTLY what I need to support my stand.

If anyone else has stats like these from credible source (I have to have them for the bibliography), I would appreciate an email. I have to get this paper written by the end of the year to get rid of an incomplete...

Thanks!

Alan

Thanks Rusty...

Not to worry Uncle. I've been thinking about this paper for about seven months...

Well - a *big* AK is *definitely* next on my shopping list Ash:-) Something about 20 inches or more would be right up my alley:-)

I'm *already hooked* Uncle Bill:-)

I've only got two problems:-) One: to hide the credit card statement for the month from the little woman and two: sweating to see if a blade this big comes through the Aussie schutz staffel customs without one of the boys confiscating it/adding it to his private collection:-)

Other than THAT, I *want* the biggest AK you've got:-)

Actually - there's one other problem:-) The 'flagship' kukri you do - THAT is totally awesome - beautiful:-) I can't make up my mind if I want the brute chopper (AK) or the fancy one (the silverwork/everything about it looks *incredible* :-)

The really funny thing is I'm getting the urge for the fancy one now:-) Three of my uncles served with the ghurkas during WWII and they brought back some rather nice kukris with them - which *sadly* went missing years ago - it would be kinda nice to have a really top quality kukri back in the family again...:-)

(I can see myself spending some serious money this month:-)

John,

Welcome to our group. You are now officially infected with HIKV :)

Oh Tsimi... Resistance is futile. We have another one on our side. Come towards the light Tsimi... :D

Sad to hear, it sounds like Canada. At least some of the Austrailians got paid market value for their firearms. Our government prefers to confiscate without renummeration.
