I've been on the hunt for a TOPS Desert Dingo since well after they discontinued them (sad day), and I finally found that KnifeWorks still had a handful in stock, and VERY reasonably priced :D

I admit I was a tad bit trepidatious (is that a word? it is now) ordering from a website I'd not previously dealt with, but more than a few people, including some on this forum, gave KnifeWorks stellar reviews, both in order handling, processing, and customer service. So I took a chance, and look at what arrived late last night! Pictures below:

I was actually very impressed with how quickly the knife arrived considering I ordered it Monday afternoon. I was equally surprised to see that a TOPS Knives branded Lansky pocket sharpener and survival whistle included in the package (maybe that's SOP for them?). Needless to say, I will gladly be doing business with them in the future :D enjoy the knife pr0n.

Nice, I like it! Very stripped down look on that one. I have a lot of TOPS knives, including the Steel Eagle series (11 inch and 7 inch blades) and the Tex Creek XL, just to name a few. They don't seem to get much love on bladeforums, but I think they're great knives.

Just curious, what about that knife makes it special? 1095 steel, basic milling, with some cord wrapped around....what am I missing?

Knife Works is at the top of my list of online knife sellers. Roger and his people are the best. Also, as you've discovered, they sometimes have stuff that's no longer available at other places. I've picked up two knives from them that were long discon'd and out of stock everywhere else I looked. Not sure if this is due to them being a smaller outfit or what, but it's always nice to come across something you've almost given up hope of finding.:cool:

I've bought a lot from Knifeworks. Roger and his team are a class act, they've earned my repeat business.

I only buy from forum sponsor companies. So far great luck all around. I've used KW several times, Knife center, Blade HQ a lot, Kershaw guy, and USA Made Blade. All stellar.

Knifeworks has excellent customer service and it's my go-to store for American knives as their international shipping costs and services are top notch.

Well the cord wrap was done by me. And honestly, it's just the simplicity and bare-bones looks. It's slim, simple, no-frills little tool, but it can already do so much. I put it through the gauntlet this weekend and it came out strong.

Pretty cool!
Just do yourself a favor a toss that "sharpener" in the trash

Yeah, I'll stick to my Fallkniven DC4 :D

That's pretty sweet looking piece there.

How much wouldn't one of those run for nowadays?

MSRP on TOPS' website is $90.00. KnifeWorks had them listed for $59.95. There was one seller on Amazon trying to pull $135.00.
