Purchased a Victorinox Adventurer today to carry as EDC.
I have the driver, one hand trekker, and of course a classic sd. Who else here loves Vics or other multitool knives?

Nice-looking knives...which one got your thumb?
It seems to happen to many of us...

There is an entire subforum where you will find people who are interested in Vics and multitools:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/786-Multi-tools-amp-Multi-purpose-Knives

Not that you can't discuss them in General, just giving you another place to read and chat about them with others who share a passion for them and where there is already a lot of content.

I carry two Victorinox SAKs every day - an Alox Cadet and an Alox Mini Champ. My wife prefers the Alox Electrician. She carries that in her purse and a red celidor Ramblier on her keychain. I have a red celidor Classic SD in a mini-first aid kit that I keep in my bag.

Yea sorry I didn't notice it. I was expecting a Victorinox manufacturer subforum :(

That sounds like a quite a collection. What's your main EDC?

Victorinox Alox Cadet gets carried every day, loose in my pocket. I carry the Victorinox Alox Mini Champ, which is the same 58mm size as the Classic but a bit thicker, on my keyring. So they are both truly EDC at this point. I rarely use the Mini Champ except for the small scissors.

It's not exactly a collection, more an assortment of tools for the right purpose. I have an Alox Farmer I carry when I am doing home fixup things where both the awl and saw are useful, and an Alox Bantam when I want something slimmer than the Cadet. I got the Farmer to replace the Electrician after my wife decided to claim it as "her" pocket knife. I think she gets more use out of it than I do any of my knives.

Got my first SAK in 1969, and no matter what I've dabbled with since, a SAK is somewhere about. As I got older, a SAK became my most carried pocket knife. A knife is just a knife, but a SAK is a pocket size solution to many of the problems that pop up in life.

I personally think a Vics are the highest value pocket knives for such low prices

For many years of backpacking my SAK was the only knife I bothered to carry. If I need to deal with wood, I'd use a light weight folding saw. I think they may be one of the highest value pocket knives out there.

My most used knife was my small classics but I lost a tooth pick and broke the scissor spring. Had it for a few years and used it for most cutting needs ahaha

I carry an Explorer Plus exclusively, don't think I could ever get along without a pen in my knife ever again. You're right about the value Vics provide.

I am a US citizen, born in NY and called CO home. Been living/working in Switzerland for 10+ years and married a beautiful Swiss maiden.

I was a big collector of victorinox/wenger, but I've since sold/traded most of my collection (I don't like having knives I dont use).

Still have a bunch of users, though! Always have at least one on me. :)

That's awesome. What made you go to Switzerland?

I'm not fanatical about them, but I got a few of them. I have a Midnight Manager cause I find it's tool set almost perfect for what I do. I'm not an outdoorsman, I work in a hotel, and anywhere I drive is reasonably close to business/retail oriented parts of town, not like I'm gonna break down on some road in the middle of nowhere, I don't go camping, etc, so the flashlight/pen/scissors/blade/small screwdrivers/bottle opener is just about perfect for my needs. I also have a Super Tinker(a gift from Knifecenter for spending a lot of money there), a Swisscard Lite(I don't carry much in my wallet, so I thought I might test this out as a replacement for the Midnight Manager), and a 2015 limited edition Classic solely because I liked the blue alox.

Lived here when I was 17/18 when my family moved here for my father's job. Loved it so much, when my father had to go back in 2007, I came along again and stayed. He's now retired back in CO. Didn't want to derail the thread, but it's yours, innit?

Pretty interesting story.
