One of my best friends growing up in Ovilla, Tx works for the GLO of Texas. Mainly, he directs the design of the web sites. His recent favorite site he worked on is the The Alamo site. http://www.thealamo.org/ The GlO has recently been given the honor to the job of caretaker of The Alamo. Also, they have received a hoard of artifacts from Phil Collins that is still being documented. Today, The Bowie Exhibit is having its Grand Opening in San Antonio. https://www.facebook.com/events/141641813027413/ My friend, Bryan Preston, is head of this exhibit. It is an high tech interactive exhibit. Bryan told me he had a black smith make the four stages knives in the exhibit.

Yes! I ask him how he got my life. He said he was just "lucky!" He started working there at just the right time. He has seen in person the Stephen F Austin hand drawn map that covers a whole wall. GLO is an amazing place to work.

Phil Collins? "Historically authenticated" in addition to "documented" wouldn't hurt.

Nonetheless any Bowie exhibit would be something interesting to see.

Yes they have the Musso knife that was believed to be the one Bowie had at the Alamo. There is some provenance but it's controversial. Phil probably paid a lot of money for it so he believes it is real.

When Phil Collins donated Alamo collection landed in Austin, GLO had to raise it's insurance policy before it could leave the airport to travel to the GLO office. The Collection was escorted by the Texas Rangers.

Should have some time to see the Alamo in May if trip goes through, this will be a neat exhibit to see.

Well if Phil Collins paid a lot of money for it, it must be real.

Is there anything that suggests Mr. Collins' collection was not legitimate? I am honestly curious.

The whole collection? Not that I know of. The Musso knife in particular? Some controversial provenance and the fact that the guy who wrote Sussudio bought it are hardly suggestions of legitimacy.

I have a few free days before Blade. I think I'll swing by and see that. Thanks for sharing the info.:)

Ohh, pleeease!

I was hoping you would turn up!

Are we in agreement about the Musso knife's legitimacy as the Alamo knife? I haven't really studied the Alamo knife and much as the sandbar knife.

So I may defer to your expertise. (Especially if we agree! :D)
