I've learned of a new alloy, it must have been developed especially for Kevin C. Nytrillium - 80% hype , 20% BS.

When will it become available to the public and how much will it cost?

This is going to be the most awesome steel EVER! I've been looking for that something special to help sell my ugly knives and I think this is just the ticket. No need for craftsmanship when you've got Nytrillium!

All that chemistry stuff has a way of going right over me and I sense something here that I must have missed. Be nice now. :)

Actually it's a bullet but that's how someone described it !!!! I immediately thought of Kevin. HAHAHA!

 :D Where can I get some! If I could get the chemistry adjusted to 70% hype and add 10% psuedo spiritual mysticism, I think I could weld it to some ancient wootz and then austemper it in weasel wizz (do you have any idea how many weasels this requires? Or one that drinks a whole lot! They got itty bitty bladders  ) facing true north. I believe I could throw out my chop saw and use this to cut my other steel :D

In all seriousness, I did get word that I could have some samples to test of a steel I have been trying to make up for a couple of years now. Will it cut though howitzer barrels? Flex to 180 degrees 346.6 times? Nope! But it should hold a good edge and mix well with L6. No B.S. super alloy, just one that will make my life a little more pleasant, I guess I am just too pragmatic,(or too honest :() .

Weasel wizz. Kevin's secret has been revealed. You heard it here first. I know I've got the editors number of a few knife magazines around here somewhere :)

Just open a keg of beer and point the weasels toward it....

LOL!!

Please do share when the testing's finished, Kevin.

Hey, if you need somebody to test a blade you make out of this new steel, let me know. You know my address. ;) :)

As a (heretofore) silent monitor of this forum, on behalf of the Women's Institute for Zoological Zoning, I urge you to consider the inhumane conditions currently in effect on weasel farms everywhere. The weasels are raised in cruelly small pens, fed a liquid diet of American Light Beers, and catheterized to facilitate the collection of their bodily fluids. Help stop the madness by refusing to patronize knifemakers trafficking in weasel urine products. Thank you.

My Weazels are free range and I feed them import or microbrewed beer on tap. Not only would mass produced American beer be exceedingly cruel and inhuman, but it would yield very poor quenches (why not just use water). My best quench producing weazel was rescued from a quenchant supplier that used Busch Light for water quenching and Stroh's for oil quenching :( . The poor little guy was just a mess.
