Actually, I have no interest in the American Lawman, regardless of the steel used. I mainly clicked on this to tell you I didn't think the knife exists, so if you found someone selling it it was probably a fake and you should check with the CS reps about it.

I like it the way it is (price), except maybe for a conventional stonewashed blade.

thanks for looking out for me (or Cold Steel, or whoever)...but I can't imagine anyone not being interested in one of the most versatile drop pointed, HHG production knives with a custom pedigree...throw in the strongest lock in the biz and it's a MUST HAVE!

But "no interest," American Lawman & Cold Steel being used in the same sentence may be a sign of the apocalypse....I think I read that somewhere, maybe...

I felt the same way about my peanut butter sandwiches. Then one day a guy said to me, "Throw some grape jelly on that bad boy"....and that guy was Chuck Norris-- true story

I do like the Blur (and stonewashed) with the S30v steel. I haven't researched XHP steel. High corrosion resistance is always important to me, especially if I am going to pay extra.

I got nothing against the knife, don't get me wrong, but for me it's just another drop point. Blade shape is fine, but so are plenty of other blades. Triad lock is indeed the strongest lock out there, but I don't put my knives through anywhere near the kinda abuse that a triad lock is necessary. Then add in Cold Steel's aggressive G10 which I dislike, and there's just nothing about this knife to make me want it anymore than any dozen of others, regardless of the steel used. And it doesn't have the"fun" factor of the bigger CS knives, either. So for me, there's nothing about it that makes it stand out to me-not saying it's bad, if someone wants to give me one I certainly wouldn't say no, I'm just saying there's nothing that makes it a must have for me, either.

duly noted :)

Man! you had me at "hello".
Too bad that you were yanking our chains.
You have NO IDEA how badly I want a Lawman in a premium steel. NO IDEA!!

Thanks for supporting the cause.

Would CS change to XHP on the regular Lawman and phase out AUS-8, or use BD1? I hope they do not use BD1....while BD1 is a nice low budget steel, imho, it is not as good as AUS-8.

I dont subscribe to the supersteel nonsense....it's a clever marketing ploy.

Do you actually USE your knives? Use an AUS-8 knife, and use an S30V knife, and try to seriously claim the AUS-8 doesn't dull faster.

AUS-8 touches up faster and easier then S30V......and while it does not hold an edge as long as S30V, it is no slouch.

S30V is slightly harder to sharpen, but you have to sharpen it far less frequently, so it still comes out to less work/time overall. I'll take that tradeoff in a heartbeat. Seriously, I've had a CS AUS-8 blade go dull after breaking down literally ONE fairly small box, that is just not what I'd call "no slouch". My other CS blades haven't fared much better...and their AUS-8 is better than most.

User error?

User error?

...it was cutting up a small box, the only freakin POSSIBLE user error would be doing something to cut myself, or trying to use the wrong side of the blade. I was using the edge and didn't cut myself, so no, not user error.
