Well,

Just received a set of the new 300 Series from Larry Oden.
Someone here had posted problems with the finish on one they purchased. These are all mint, go figure...some buffing compound in one joint but that is starting to be SOP on new knives it seems. Leather sheaths come with knives. Oh, did I mentioned, yes I did but here again, American Made........I was not excited when I first saw them in pictures but here in hand they are growing on me. I especially like the light colored 301. Maybe the rivets on the little 305 are a hair big....... And they are sharp, I cut the p--- out of one finger moving them around in photo and had to use one of my Buck Bandaids from Idaho....Oh, and did I mention they are American Made............300Bucks

Good job CH. You covered up the Buck emblem on the 301 sheath.:D
Love the leather sheaths.

I like them! Thanks for posting, will have to check them out down the road.

Are the sheaths pocket only or do they have belt loops on them?

I've been thinking hard about more slippies and was going to branch out, but Buck may keep me from doing that with these.

Are they still making the chinese wal-mart versions or did these "replace" that line?

Thats good news! Thanks for posting the pics. I really like the Silver colored one. I'm curious as well, If these will be replacing the chinese versions at wally world?

Well, to answer some questions.

Replace China - think eventually, but maybe CJ or Joe will answer offically.
Springs - just like regular 300 series, each blade gets a spring.
Case for 301 has spring steel belt clip, others don't.
Ohen - were you thinking duty carry or off-duty, I may have show and tell idea.
Yes, I like the lighter colored wood also.

300- will need a more traditional "pocket knife" for my next job. Not going to be able to run around with as many large knives as I do now.

They look like a great option.

300 Nice looking BUCKS thanks for sharing. I just ordered a large 301 for my dog from Larry and just waiting till they show up.

They're nice and I'm glad they were made here, but....I was hoping the Wal Mart 300s were going to be produced here, I love the trapper and canoe patterns but won't by the China made, maybe someday they'll come back home (hint, hint CJ!).

I just received a 301 usa made stockman with the silver wood. I really like the grinds on the blades. The spey blade almost looks like a scandi grind! All three blades are hair popping sharp and the fit and finish are exceeding of my expectations for a production made slip joint! The leather pocket slip cover has a nice pocket clip that could be removed if someone wanted to do that. Very nice job from the Buck folks! Thanks for bringing these back to the USA! Now I have to try and gather the rest of the set! Thanks to 300bucks for posting this info. I would not have known about these if it weren't for this post!

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I'm curious about this. Are the 300 series usually Chinese-made? I saw a set at WalMart (a Toothpick and a Trapper with pearloid scales, I believe) that I thought about buying, but not if they weren't made here in the US.

Most (or all) of the 300s on newgraham.com seem to be Chinese as well. Can you get American-made 300s directly from Buck?
