I would like to introduce myself, my name is Chris Linton. I am a new Apprentice at Fiddleback Forge. I was born and raised in North Georgia on a small farm. I grew up riding horses and playing in the woods. I learned early on the importance of a good knife and I have always had one as long as I can remember. I joined the Army as an Infantry soldier at 21 in 2004, in 2005 I deployed to Iraq for a year with the 4th Infantry division. I spent the last 2 years of my Army career at Ft. Benning as the Master Gunners school armorer, getting out in 2009 as an E5/SGT.

What helped me excel in the military was attention to detail and dedication to the task at hand. These qualities go into my knives. I enjoy the freedom of creative expression that comes with making knives. I forge as well as stock removal. My favorite steels to work with are W2, O1, and CPM154. I am currently working on a batch of knives and hope to start selling on the Forum soon. I look forward to making quality handmade knives from my hands to yours. My company name will be Osprey Knife & Tool.

Those are some great looking knives Chris, I was particularly pleased to see that the first knife pictured was a scandi.

Congratulations with your apprenticeship, I'm looking forward to see more of your creations!

And the goodness keeps coming! Welcome aboard and thank you for your service to our great nation.

Congratulations Chris on joining the Fiddleback team. Your knives show that you already have some serious skills to add to the party. I am sure that you will continue to refine your craftsmanship under Andy's tutelage. Good luck!

Thank you every one for the support and warm welcomes. I look forward to sharing more work and exchanging in dialogue on the forums. The pictures above are some of my work so far. The 1st picture is of a scandi I made awhile back before apprenticing with Fiddleback, as well as the second with the black micarta handle. The last two are ones I have completed while under my apprenticeship with Fiddleback. I will post another picture of my earlier work along with picture of one I completed before Christmas. Please feel free to ask me questions.
