Jeepnut's 'The Other Hobby' thread inspired me to post this. Totally off topic, but I reckon it's cool anyway.

I recently purchased a Suhr guitar. A pure work of art in every respect. Handmade in San Diego, this thing is the Lamborghini of guitars. The craftsmanship is incredible. Solid mahogany with a flame maple top. The electronics are completely custom made and all the hardware is the best you can get in the biz.

Combined with my Mesa amp, the tone is nothing short of amazing.

Check it out...

The grain structure on that Shur reminds me of the premium wood you get on a bespoke shotgun or double rifle stock ... lovely looking ...

I don't know much about them but sure looks beautiful. Congrats on the score!

Rob, we need a video of you shredin on that beauty!! You should include your Great Dane in the video as well. He-my guess(or she) is awesome! I love Great Danes

My uncle makes his own arch-top guitars so I have to say that is a piece of art.

WHether, you play or not you have to admire the beauty of your instrument;):D

Very nice, those are great guitars. Congrats. Is the body under that top basswood or mahogany?

I prefer PRS (Maserati of guitars :D) and used to have an extensive collection of 1985s and Dragons. Down to two 1985s and a McCarty.

The body is mahogany. I checked out a couple of PRS, I'd never played one before and thought I would love them, but sadly, no. They just didn't feel right and the pickup selectors were in a weird spot. I like to flick between the neck and bridge pickups often, and very quickly, and the PRS models (the ones I tried anyway) wouldn't allow that. :(

So anyway, this thing's a beauty! Stay tuned for some serious shredding...

TRAITOR!!! ...You need a AXE to shred??? Whatsamatter with your MOAB???? ;););) :D

That's a mighty fine lookin' guitar, Rob!! Congrats! I'm looking forward to the "shredding"!! :D:thumbup::thumbup:

I would love to play a full custom guitar... That looks gorgeous

The two best playing guitars I have ever laid hands on were my old vintage Tele, and suprisingly a Yamaha hollowbody.
