I`m the new guy. I need directions to where i can learn about sharpening stones and techniques. I have a CS ODA (made in Taiwan i think) and it came "dull" from the factory so need to figure out how to best sharpen it. I realize it`s not the very best of steel alloys on this issue knife but still i would like to know how to best attack this challenge. I have a 1000 grit Global stone (ceramic?) but not sure where to start. Thanks for any pointers y`all and do remember to welcome me to the forum :)

Welcome to the forum! Get you a set of DMT diamond stones in various grits, and some compound-loaded leather strops and practice. You can read all about it on the internet all day, but practice is how you'll learn to sharpen. Holding a consistent angle on both the push and pull strokes is the secret.
