New Arrivals---Two Case Beauties

Even if it were an SFO, it would have a pattern number. Definitely modified.

Sorry, I missed that (need more coffee today). The pattern no. would've been on the spey which was removed. Otherwise, if it were a single blade SFO, Case would've had it on the clip.

No idea about the filework. It was a limited release in 2002 they called the "Single Blade Jacks" collection. I have seen the 6175 (on the large stockman frame) and 6147 (on the regular stockman frame), in a Peachseed Jigged Antique Bone handle pattern, which doesn't match the bone on Andrew's trapper there. Neither of those was bareheaded.

I am not sure what all patterns were done in that collection, or what the variants were.

Edit: Found this old thread here that lists the knives:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/765381-need-2002-case-catalog-info

Apprently it was actually called the "Double X Slimline" family. Interestingly enough, there is no regular Trapper mentioned, so I guess Andrew's knife was not part of that run.

Thanks John

I have that same barlow. I love the bone and shield on it. I really like it but I don't carry it much since it is a nail breaker. How is the pull on yours?

Sorry to hear that. Both of mine have moderate pulls, with the pretty smooth bone pictured being somewhat stronger. But I haven't washed/dried/lubed it yet, and that usually helps as well.

FWIW, once upon a time I had a problem with a Case knife and I ended up sending it in to Case and they did a great job taking care of me. I even posted about it here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1088595-Great-Customer-Service-Experience-with-Case
