new axe. need maker ID, please.

Hello Gents,

I recently procured this axe on that "E" auction site for a song. Per the auction, there is a makers mark on the axe, but I/the seller has no idea who it would be. Any help would be appreciated.

Most likely that was stamped in by a previous owner,maker's would'nt put their mark that close to a working edge because of damage,then again stranger thing's have happened when the m@@n is full,have you tried Bernard Levine he may have something on it:thumbup:

thank you for the reply. I haven't tried Levine yet. I guess it makes sense about the stamp being an owner ID so near the poll, but yet my Norlund hatchet is stamped real close to the edge also Still, this axe looks like it will be a fun project to tinker with.
