OK, I'm sitting in my recliner last night thinking 'How can I make a latch that locks securely every time but can still handle the stress of a latch drop?' I'll spare you the thought process that brought me to this, but here is my idea: A telescoping latch! Made of steel and with a sturdy spring inside. Once again, a crude drawing.

Yes, I know the design has fatal flaws but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway. Be neat if it worked, non?

Yeah well, I was extremely tired when I thought that up. Alright I'll admit it, bad idea.

I forget but someone thought about this in the forum up in Balisongxtreme.com.. i forget who though. I think it is a very novel idea. If anyone can do it I know Booshank can

If your going to put a spring in it, then maybe you could add a little button for decoration. Then when Customs confiscates them and calls them a switchblade knife, there will be a spring and a button, so they can prove they really are switchblades
