Just finished this one. 4 1/2" half tang blade of 01 steel. Walnut grip is secured with two steel cross pins, wrapped in deer rawhide, and baseball stitched with rawhide lace. The sheath is walnut dyed brain tanned deer over a vege-tan inner sheath, sewn with linen thread and "old time German" chalk white beads. All very lightly aged. The set weighs in at a comfortable 3 1/2 oz. I hope you enjoy a look.

Patrick, the pins are acually small beads. The Native Americans in the east used this type of decoration occassionally on guns, tomahawks, ect. They are set snuggly into holes with glue, or press fitted.

Damn fine work! :thumbup::thumbup:
Wick, your period correct knives always impress me. The scope of the workmanship always jumps out me when I see one of your knives. :cool:
