New "Battle Blades" forum and NO Slipjoint forum yet......???

Phlatinum, I do not think there is any need for sarcasm or animosity. I think there should have been a forum dedicated to slipjoints and other traditional folders long ago. The fact that we could be seeing one soon is, in my opinion, a very good thing. I agree that we most certainly will see it succeed.

I also do not see naming it Traditional Folders as a way of covering up that BladeForums is copying what is being done on KF. Many of the forums on KF were here before they started there. Was KF copying Bladeforums then? Or was it just that the members of KF wanted these forums and James thought they would be a good idea? I think that Spark is trying to come up with a good idea for a forum and I for one can hardly wait for it's inception. Another place to discuss traditional folders is a great idea and one to be supported, as far as I am concerned.

Keith,

I feel no animosity for anyone here. That is a mis-calculation on your part. Was I being sarcastic? ... absolutely. But my comments can't be considered sarcastic if they aren't basically true, right? I just feel that the conversation up to that point was rather comical. Sorry if I offended your delicate sensibilities. I admire your knack for riding the fence. It never hurts to wind up on the winning side. (More sarcasm there, but wasn't it amusing?!)

I was not offended at all actually. I plan on supporting both forums and do not see that there has to be a winner. The winners as far as I can tell are the forum members that get a choice of places to discuss the knives they like.

I felt that I detected a little animosty in your comment about Spark copying another forum. Forgive me if I misconstrued this and was in error.

By the way, if those last comments were meant to be amusing, don't quit your day job.

Now that was funny! :D
Point taken, though. That wasn't very nice of me, and I'm sorry I said it. You are a good egg.

Phlatinum - I honestly don't care what happens on KnifeForums.com and certainly don't use it as a benchmark for what I should or shouldn't do here. Jim runs his site his way, I run BladeForums.com another, and we're both happy with what we've got.

Just because you've started 50% of 90 odd threads, doesn't mean anything either. Like I've said, I'm more concerned with staying power than the "initial pop", and when I say I'm considering things, I mean just that.

Instead of sarcasm, maybe you could give me the benefit of the doubt since I only been doing this for 5 years now; besides being the one that created both sites...

Heck, I might be speaking from experience when I say that I don't like rushing into things without considering them first.

Just my two cents.

Spark ... You're just trying to make me look good, right? :D

I have been quite active there, though. I would've started just as many slipjoint threads here, if we'd had a Slip-Joint forum here. (... if the hordes of slipjoint fans here didn't beat me to it.) If I seem impatient, its due to frustration, and I don't think I'm the only slipjoint fan here suffering from lackoslipforumitis. Maybe our judgement is grossly in error, but slipjoints must easily outnumber all other knife-types by a huge margin. It seems obvious that a slipjoint forum would be far more appreciated than, well ... some others that are already established here. Slam-dunk, I think them younguns call it. ;) But it's your call. Peace!

A traditional forum would be great. It wouldn't have to be limited to just folders, in my opinion. It could even include traditional styled fixed blades, like hunting knives, bowies, anything not considered "tactickal" ( I don't even know how to spell that word :D ).
