New BCCI newsletter arrived....

I wish I only wanted 7 :D
We'll see how they look when they are available!!

That is a *very* good point, one that I had forgotten...

Do you guys remember when the drop-point 110 w/Sambar was proposed, and the prototype photos were posted??? (I do; I posted them)...I was immediately enthusiastic, and committed to buying...and boy, was I disappointed when the "drop point" blade profile was radically different from the "426" profile that the prototype displayed...but I bit the bullet and paid up...I honor my committments...but I hope that any future offerings are more clearly defined... :)

You guys have to bear in mind that prototypes are just that; like a concept car...production models always vary. A friend of mine has a $5000 deposit on a 2008 Dodge Challenger, just based on concept car photos.

We're not talking about a whole new design (like your example) but an existing production part - the 426 Bucklite blade. (Or a reground 110 blade, as 334dave stated). Were the specs lost??? Did the person responsible for the new design not even look at the existing 426 blade??? Did he even look at the prototype???

This is all old news...It was commented on at the time, reported to Buck; nothing ever came of it...

Most of you were happy with it...Eventually I'll get around to grinding it to match the 426 profile...then I'll be happy with it... ;)

Trax, I think that knife was advertised as a drop point , finger grooved, stag handled 110...Did your knife come with a clip point or drop point? I don't think "identical 426 blade geometry" was ever quoted.

No, it wasn't, that I know of (I'm looking at the Newsletter announcement). It was the pictures that sold me. I'm a picture person. :) If it's not like the advertised picture, I'm not happy. :( (<-- me, being sad)

In fact, it was the pictures that prompted me to grind down a 110 to a 426 profile. I still like them better than the clip points. ;)

...I was just tryin' to point out to Scott what you had mentioned earlier about the early pics...

I thought you were linking to a thread where someone (besides me) had said "426"...

Yeah, the prototype is a nice looking knife... :)
