New BCCI tactical 110 peeve

It's really not that bad of a design, if you like droppoint 110s. I don't, and I don't like that handle combination.

Well, actually......a 110 has a clip point.

I don't know WHAT that damned thing is.......unwanted illegitimate child of a pigsticker and a wandering 300 Series jack knife maybe?

:D

It's really not that bad of a design, but it's just a droppoint 110 with carbon fiber. Carbon fiber with brass=not a priority in my book. Same with droppoint 110s. Put it all together, and you have the perfect knife for me to avoid at all costs.

If the above quote is referring to the club offering it's wrong on two counts. The knives have neither brass bolsters/frame nor carbon fiber scales.

Not a fan.
If I wanted a tactical 110, i'd get an AG and put a thumbstud on it and make some carbon fiber scales for it.

I'm not a fan of that knife myself. I don't like the pressed imprint on the wood, it looks like an inexpensive attempt to get a carbon fiber look on the knife. However, I am a fan of the DP S30V blades! These will be on ebay for a $50+ increase on each knife sold, that said what do I know. Maybe if I had one in hand I'd like it. But, the photo leaves a lot to be desired.

Under the modern definition, Tacky-cool is Tacky-cool and a 110 is a 110 and never the twain shall meet.
Drop point on a 110? Blasphemy!
ugh .. guess i beg to respectfuly disagree...
drop point and tacky cool
if you have any doughts jest take a gander at my rubber bucky with its tacky cool handle !!!
was proof tested by many here on the forum and garndered many comments on how nice it was to use!!
but to each his own... one day i will make more rubber buckys...
and will start getting my shop set up when i get home from texas...

I'm not a fan of Tacticool knives. In my mind it is just a marketing catch phrase, used to coax money out of people, for a product that is completely useless for most anyone that actually uses a knife. Of course there are exceptions I'm sure...
This knife IMHO is about as Non-Tacticool as it gets, and the marketing of a true American classic (110) as such, is really disappointing.
Buck offered the CSAR and Strider knives, and in my mind those better fit the title.

That said, I actually like the knife. I like the steel, blade shape, and NS bolsters. I could take or leave the pressed wood scales though. If they were available at a decent price, I wouldn't mind having one.

After handling this knife in person, I like it alot! The Checkering seems to add alot of grip. I like the DP look. Maybe just because its different.....

I wonder how a Black s30v blade with polished bolsters might turn out. Or maybe a CPM 154, I think I missed out on those.

IMHO that this original decision.
I bought two of them and wait when they come to Russia. One will be on the stand, and the other on the belt. I've been using as a EDC classic 110. I think that 110 tactical will be able to change the 110 classic. Time will tell.
Maybe I'll send one to Jerad to customize

Since this thread started I've seen better pictures and I actually don't think it's a bad-looking knife.

Maybe I'm just getting used to the blasphemy of drop point on 110. Maybe Satan is just tempting me.

:D

Anyhow, it ain't as bad as I thought and it will for sure be an oddity in years to come that people will lust after.

I recieved mine today, boy oh boy i wish i ordered more of them already, kickin' myself in the arse right now.The knife is as grippy as Daves' rubber bucky ,or pretty close anyway. The fit and finish on this knife is something i haven't seen on a new 110 in awhile..Its perfect! The blade is RAZOR sharp,no blade play ,awesome walk n talk, smooth as silk .I didn't care that much for the pictures ,but the actual knife is sweet in every way.Love the subdued bolsters and s 30 v drop point, this was gonna be for my buds wedding gift, now its going to his 7 year old son who is crazy about knives, hunting ,fishing ,camping, etc,he will have something to remember his dad by,he cant have it until he turns 12 says his momma.LOL. Buck should definately add this to their lineup,a cabelas alaskan guide drop point would be nice,it would definately breathe new life into the 110 line up.Great knife!

I, too, regret not ordering at least one more. I would love to have an extra to get scaled in stag, would be the perfect belt knife for me while hunting. Going to leave mine as is for now, maybe I'll get lucky and someone will hate theirs and I'll scoop it up....yeah right:rolleyes:
