New Becker Customer Says Hello… And Has Questions…

I only have an Izula of the above mentioned. Big fan. There are also a few different people making handles for them if you're not a fan of the paracord wrap.

Wow, good thing that the editing doesn't render the whole post useless. Did you decide on anything yet? Has the BK-2 arrived?

Sadly, my BK-2 has yet to arrive. I've prepaid in full. I'm pacing like an expectant father... waiting... waiting... can't eat... can't sleep... worried something might have happened to it... no phone call... :D

The worst part is that I want to see it in hand before I order up a little buddy for it. Maybe a BK-11, perhaps a BK-14, could be an Izula... so that's on hold too!

I saw a new bk2 on the exchange a few weeks ago, and when I saw the price i thought no one would buy it. It was snatched up immediately and someone called seconds on it. I went to verify the price hadn't risen while I wasn't looking, and noone had them in stock. They are hard to find these days.

Slapper, I'd like to hire you to head down to my local B&M and pay them a visit... do what you do best, fella! :D

Yeah, somebody is responsible for the shortage of BK2's and we should hunt him down and torture him. A real dirtbag, me thinks. :D

I hope your Campanion gets there soon, brother, really I do. Not to worry, there are brand spankin' new ones rolling off the line everyday.

Thanks for the support, Moose! :)

So, I went down to the shop yesterday (to warn the staff that Slapper is on his way and will find new ways to motivate them) and was told that my BK-2 should arrive "any day now" and that I should "call off the Slapper." Bottom line: no Becker and no definite ETA. I was so upset that I had to buy a Spyderco Para-Military 2 to console myself.

As I stepped out of the store, I suddenly realised that the staff probably know that I don't like leaving the shop without something new; they probably have my Becker in the back and won't hand it over until I buy a few more knives. Those dirty plotting... er... plotters! This MUST be their strategy. :grumpy:

Perhaps I'm just growing impatient or maybe I just don't want to face the possibility that my Becker has run off to go camping with another fella; I'd be heart-broken. :(

:D

I find sharpening my other knives very calming and soothing while waiting for new incomings. Wanna try that, TW? My dealer actually had stock of BK2 when I placed my order. But he went camping right after my order and mail it out one week later. By then all my other knives are hair popping sharp. Haha!

I'm really just coming to drink beer and play hockey.;)

Until the playoffs are over, it's all about drinking beer and watching hockey... it'll get you all ramped up and in a slappin' mood! :D

Sounds very therapeutic and relaxing, but all my knives are already sharp except for my BM 940. I'm slowly working on it free-hand. If I tried to sharpen it while angry, I'd ruin it. Then I'd stomp on it, set it on fire and kick it over a cliff. Ok, maybe not. I'm actually a pretty patient man-child with plenty of other toys to keep me happy while waiting for my BK-2. I do go on though, don't I...? :)

After almost an entire bloody month... finally... this... and I'm blown away by it. Spectacular!

Glad you got it, and congrats on the BK2, they are a great, great knife. Enjoy and post up some user pics when you get some.

Congrats on the blade! Just so you know if you don't feed the BK's with wood every now an then they take blood whenever they can get it! Go get that baby dirty! Oh - take pics.

Howdy Campers!

After much deliberation and research into fixed-blades, I finally pulled the trigger on one. I had a hard time choosing between a Becker and an ESEE, but finally decided on both. I would buy a larger blade from one manufacturer and a smaller knife from the other. My decision for the large was the BK-2, which I ordered only yesterday, and was planning on picking up an Izula to compliment it, but then I started to focus on the small fixed-blade offerings also from Becker…

I like the look of the BK-11. I also like the BK-14 ‘Eskabar’, which seems to offer the best of both the BK-11 and the ESEE Izula (note: the Izula is not out of the running yet.) My question: which smaller fixed-blade would you choose to compliment a BK-2?

I like the option of ‘scout’ carry, which is to say carrying my main fixed-blade horizontally on my belt at the small of my back. I find it the most comfortable method of carry when not humping my main ruck. Can the sheath that comes with the BK-2 be easily modified to accommodate scout carry (I'm right-handed, btw)? If not, are there any affordable after-market offerings you could recommend for this? I love the look of the Hedgehog custom sheath, but for the price (), I’d rather pay a few bucks more and buy a small Sebenza! Perhaps I should just be more patient and wait for my BK-2 to actually arrive before I start with such questions… :o

Thanks, fellas! :)
JRE makes horizontal sheaths for the BK2, about 80 bucks I think. also check with local leather shops or saddle shops a lot of those guys make knife sheaths.
