New Benchmade is horribly off center, any advice?

 Ewwwwww...
I don't know how they let that get out of the shop.
You said it was a Custom Shop knife? I ordered my CS mini-CR 3 weeks ago. I'll be sure to look it iver closely...

Yeah and again, love the knife. Red bolster, black hardware and M4 steel. Love the knife but that centering just bugs me sometimes.

I hope you can get it properly fixed!
(The blade's not bent: is it?)

I dont think so unless it came that way from the factory it hasnt really been used for anything other than mundane cutting. I suppose it could be worth sending in the knife so it gets more pocket time.

A rough guide to look at in order to check for straightness:
Lay a ruler along the center of the grip, and see how things line up out at the blade tip.
(Check on both sides...)
If anything is grossly off: you'll see it for sure.
(But I hope you don't!)

My custom Crooked River (received about 3 weeks ago) was also horribly off-center. Toward the show side. I followed some advice on YouTube and fixed it. Here’s what I did:

1. Open the blade.
2. Loosen the body screws. All of them.
3. Press the blade into a towel on a tabletop. You want to put pressure on the blade in the direction that it’s off- center. For example, mine was off toward the show scale, so I put pressure on the blade pushing it toward the show scale.
4. While holding pressure on the blade (still open), tighten all the body screws. Once they’re all snuggled down, release the pressure on the blade.

I was shocked that it worked as well as it did. Perfectly centered now. Why Benchmade can’t seem to ship their knives in good condition is completely beyond me.

Just in case my directions weren’t clear, here’s the YouTube video I followed:

The guy misses one key thing. Some knives are put together with loktite. If you don't use loktite in your adjustments, it will soon get loose and maybe even worse or worst of all, a lost screw.
