New Benchmade knives Barrage and Nagara

Well bring it over to W&C and we can talk about it:D
No, now I´m scared:o

I boycot chinese made products if I can. I built my pc by myself and I know, where the components where made. Not in China...;)
And I won´t buy chinese made cutlery. Not for racist reasons, just to mention that.

So let´s just forget about that, ok? Peace.

Thank you, gentlemen. It was getting a bit overheated for the General Knife Discussion. I appreciate the change of tone.

Thanks for that, and the simple explanation of the lock. I'd not read up on it, or even noticed the button.
That's a nice looking knife.

I will try to get pics in that thread to show what I am talking about. It is a simple lock, like a reverse Liner Lock so to speak. I would think that due to this it would have the same inherent weaknesses a liner lock has but this is not a hard use knife.

Guys, help me out here: from what I recall some years back, the Barrage seems to be from a model that never really got into production because of some issues with the design. Or is it the same one?

I seem to remember it being looking exactly like the Barrage but that old proto seemed to be in all-metal. Was it the BM 870 or 780???

+1, And I have to wonder how the AO will affect the already seemingly weak Omega springs.
If the Axis lock is capable of being used in a full-on automatic (and it is, has been used that way reliably for years, and yes I have one and can attest to its functionality and reliability), then I think this one will be fine.

It's not 'cheap', it's Made In The Peoples Republic of China. The price asked is exactly what it is worth.

Whew, I bet the poster is finally glad you came along an answered their question more than 1 year later.

I own a Barrage, and I absolutely love it.

The blade is just the right length and weight, and I love the kick & click it gives when I open it. It turns heads wherever I go, even among friends who aren't knife enthusiasts. My friends always want to see it when I'm done using it, and a few of them turned around and bought one right away.

I used to carry only one knife with me at a time. Ever since I got the Barrage, that number has increased to two - the Barrage and something else. :D

Head down to your local knife store - the Barrage sells so well that odds are they'll have one in the shop. Handle it for a bit and I'm sure you'll be convinced. It's a superb little knife.
