I have actually had this knife for a few months, got sick, had surgery etc and just now getting back to "normal". So basically i have not used this knife yet. I do know that i cannot stand to carry this long knife on the hip so my question to you fellas is, how do you carry your BK9 in sheath? if you have it strapped to your back pack please post pics. i have a Mini Falcon II and i have yet to figure out how to strap that long motha on there. any ideas and etc would be greatful

This is how i carry mine, all day long if need be, with no issues. You can stand/sit/work/squat/enter/exit vehicles/get onto/off of atv's/tractors/etc...

Custom made knife sheaths ROCK !!! Have it made exactly the way you want it. Then it will make you smile everytime you use it.

Things that are important to me: Being able to put it on & take it off without removing your belt, the drop leg & swivel, drain hole, able to deploy it in any position with just one hand with no straps to fumble with or accidently cut while drawing it, the 1.5" elastic leg strap w/buckle, the ability to easily change up &/or add things (to be modular) to the sheath, thumb ramp for quiet drawing of the knife, a nice tight-but-not-too-tight wobble free fit, for it to be able to make the "click" when re-sheathing it so you KNOW it is in & secure,

With the stock sheath, get some shock cord (or paracord) and a cord lock. Run the 2 ends of your length of shock cord through the top rivets toward the back of the sheath, run the shock through the straps on the side of your back and back through the bottom rivets on the sheath toward the front. Pop the cord lock over the 2 ends of cord and cinch it down tight and you'll carry that weight on the side of your pack.

Better yet, if you're like me, your son will want to carry the big knife, so strap it to his pack!

duck taped to my leg :) or pack frame really...

lol thanks for the responses fellas

Did you get the info you needed? I carry mine in an Azwelke custom kydex sheath. Nice sheath, but nothing fancy, just a belt sheath, but extemely well made.

As far as lashing it to a pack, I had mine lashed to the outside of my Condor II for a while, and it rode well there. I took a couple of the plastic molle strap things, and molle'd it to the highest horizontal molle loop on the side of the pack. Then, I slid it down behind the two lower straps, to keep it from flopping.

I don't think I have any pics of it, because shortly after that, I moved on to 5.11 72 Rush, which, is HUGE, so, I can actually just drop it in a pocket now.

Does that help?

That is one manly photo. The only way it could be any manly-er would be if you were scratching yourself and arm wrestling the Duke.
