New BK9 came today need some advice.......Update.

Ordered a BK9 form Amazon. Got it today couple questions. It came in a plain brown box with air bag things in it, not a Ka-Bar box like Im used to seeing.

The knife had a few scratches on it......no big deal Im going to use it.

Looking at it closer I really think the tip is bent......

So should it have come in a different box or is that the right one? Should I send it back to Amazon? Will they try to say I used it? Should I contact Ka-Bar? Or should I just go beat the hell out of something with it :) Probably wont be buying more knives from Amazon.

Wow, that's a little odd, I got my 7 though Amazon and it came in a Ka-Bar box and was perfect. I guess it depends on what Store actually shipped it. Hard to tell from the pic if the tip is bent, but I would call up and see if something can be done
 
Contact Ka-Bar, most likely someone used it and hated it and sent it back. Who could possibly hate a Becker?

Don't call Kabar call amazon. They will ship you another next day and will keep sending em till your happy. Best customer service on the planet.

Bingo. They've made me happy a couple of times on stuff. They'll take care of you.
 
Don't call Kabar. Sorry, hate to say that, but you bought it from Amazon, contact Amazon. If it was bought through a dealer of Amazon, contact them.

What you have is a knife that has been taken back, for whatever reason, then sold again. Kabar will take care of you, but you need to back track through the proper channels. If you don't get satisfaction from Amazon, then contact Kabar about it.

I say this, because, yes there may be an issue with the blade (pics are blurry), but you need to talk to the guy who took your money first, then the manufacturer that made it, if you don't get the issue resolved.

Ok called Amazon they are going to give me a full refund and sending me a label to return it.

I just got a BK2 and BK11 from Amazon just last week. They were sold direct from Amazon, not a sub-vendor. They both came in Ka-Bar boxes.

When I was researching these knives on Amazon last week there was a 1 star review from some guy that said he got his BK9 with scratches, an uneven grind, and a bent tip. He said he sent it back. I wonder?

That sounds like our huckleberry right there. I hate when they bicycle returns through and through.

Lets face it, the world ain't perfect, and every knife that leaves Olean isn't going to be perfect, but Kabar will make it right, of that there is no doubt. Sellers that keep shilling out the same returns, instead of sending them back through the right channels, just pisses me off.

Rant over, glad Amazon hooked you up. There are some great sellers out there, just keep looking, brother, just keep looking. Those BK9's aren't that hard to find. :D

Try an internet dealer, rhymes with Joe Mars. They are good to go.

Don't send it back yet I ordered a BK9 last night from amazon and I don't want that one,lol.. Got my BK2 from them in the correct box, hope the 9 comes in perfect as well.
 
Too bad you got what you got, but sounds like Amazon is fixin' you up. And you sound pretty real about using a knife.

Good thing is, you're here. Got Amazon, Kabar, Ethan Becker, and all of us. You ain't gonna' find better back up.

Enjoy the 9 - heck of a blade. One of my favorites.
 
If it ain't sold and shipped by Amazon - I do not order it!

My 7 & 11 were, and were perfect. Both in Kabar previously unopened boxes.
