Broke down and bought my 1st Becker with my income tax money recently, along with a new pack. Finally got some free time today, and decided to take them out for a test drive down by the brush pile. I apologize for the pic quality, used my phone to take them.

This is my new pack, an Eberlestock X3 LoDrag, along with my 10/22 (Tapco Intrafuse stock, tech sights, and a BX-25 magazine).

It has a built-in gun sleeve that folds up into the bottom when not in use. (Going to be great for hunting)

This is what the sleeve looks like when extended.

Fully collapsed, the 10/22 sticks out of the top about 1"1/2-2".

Full picture, with gun in the sleeve. No need for the rifle today, so I left it at the house.

BK-9 fresh out of the box. I plan on stripping it and fitting it with some micarta sometime down the line.

This was a seasoned silver maple log, not the hardest wood in the world, but certainly not the softest either. Had no problems getting through it.

The bark had fallen off and was lying all around the log, made awesome tinder.

This was my 1st time batoning anything to speak of. I'm a newbie :p

Made pretty short work of that little log. This knife is a beast..

My crude attempt at some feather sticks.

Got a fire going pretty easily, eventually had to use the striker on my ferro rod instead of the spine of the knife. It produced plenty of sparks, I just kept batting my tinder away with the knife lol. Need some more practice.

SPAM steak anyone?

Buck 110 acted as my stand-in kitchen knife until i cough up the cash for a BK-5 or possibly a 15?

Tastes like success :D

BK-9 after shot. Still shaving sharp, and nowhere near broken in.

Absolultely love this knife. I think I'm hooked.
Have a good one guys!

mmm, maidens. spam on a stick. good times.

Thanks! I'm loving the pack so far. It's so comfy! Had everything jammed into a maxpedition condor 2 prior to buying this one, and while it was a well put together pack, this one is just leaps and bounds above the condor as far as comfort goes. Should have no problems with it on long hikes. I'll have to do a full review once i get it broken in.

Can't beat the 10/22 as far as semi-auto rimfires are concerned.. i'm liking this setup so far, been doing a lot of plinking lately. I like the tapco stock, but i miss the plain jane walnut one too. May have to pick up a second gun as opposed to changing the stock in and out when i feel like being more traditional :p

Jhuss, this is a great post, love posts like this.

BK9 is The King, BK2 is the beast. :D

How you like tha BX25?

Good lookin' pack, and an all around versitle setup, even come with the standard issue 110. :D

Thanks moose. The BX25 is great. Played around with my buddy's 10/22 a couple years back before i got mine. He had a couple different brands of high capacity mags and they don't even compare to these. We determined the all-plastic ones are just crap. Back then the steel lipped butler creek mags were about as good as it got, and even with those we had a few hang ups. I bought two of the BX25s shortly after they came out, and collectively I've put about 2000 rounds through them so far. Haven't had a problem yet. No hardcore testing by any means, but i'm fairly impressed.

Already talking about a BK5 or(let's be honest, "and") a BK15, REEL HIM IN! Welcome, watch out for the old man, he shoots for the kiester.

Very well trained nose. How's that Emberlit treating you? Looks like you've gotten a little use out of it. I've been eyeing those for a while.

Nice knife, nice pack, nice gun, great post.

Yes, stripping is a wise decision.

Appreciate the reply. Looks to be a wise decision indeed.. That is a thing of beauty!

Cool post and pics - nice! I'm a sucker for meat on a stick over a fire.

I've yet to meet a man who wasn't, lol. I'm really digging the hat.. Mind if I ask what kind it is?

mmmm spam over the fire! Nice pics! you should pick up the 15. Not that I'm bias or anything...

I definitely plan to! Really enjoyed your post on it earlier as a matter of fact. It seems like it'd be the perfect backup to the 9 when it comes to smaller tasks.
