Broke down and bought my 1st Becker with my income tax money recently, along with a new pack. Finally got some free time today, and decided to take them out for a test drive down by the brush pile. I apologize for the pic quality, used my phone to take them.
This is my new pack, an Eberlestock X3 LoDrag, along with my 10/22 (Tapco Intrafuse stock, tech sights, and a BX-25 magazine).
It has a built-in gun sleeve that folds up into the bottom when not in use. (Going to be great for hunting)
This is what the sleeve looks like when extended.
Fully collapsed, the 10/22 sticks out of the top about 1"1/2-2".
Full picture, with gun in the sleeve. No need for the rifle today, so I left it at the house.
BK-9 fresh out of the box. I plan on stripping it and fitting it with some micarta sometime down the line.
This was a seasoned silver maple log, not the hardest wood in the world, but certainly not the softest either. Had no problems getting through it.
The bark had fallen off and was lying all around the log, made awesome tinder.
This was my 1st time batoning anything to speak of. I'm a newbie
Made pretty short work of that little log. This knife is a beast..
My crude attempt at some feather sticks.
Got a fire going pretty easily, eventually had to use the striker on my ferro rod instead of the spine of the knife. It produced plenty of sparks, I just kept batting my tinder away with the knife lol. Need some more practice.
SPAM steak anyone?
Buck 110 acted as my stand-in kitchen knife until i cough up the cash for a BK-5 or possibly a 15?
Tastes like success
BK-9 after shot. Still shaving sharp, and nowhere near broken in.
Absolultely love this knife. I think I'm hooked.
Have a good one guys!
