New BK9's Maiden Voyage (to the field behind my house)

awesome trip, looks like a great time. Im hovering over the Buy button with a BK9 in my cart. Seems like every thread tonight has The King in it! decisions decisions decisions.

Stone me for heresy if y'all want...but I won't eat spam. I'd have to be really actually Hungry to eat canned/potted meat. Except Vienna Sausages...I luvs those

BK9 Still floating around in my cart.

Very well trained nose. How's that Emberlit treating you? Looks like you've gotten a little use out of it. I've been eyeing those for a while.

it's ridiculously fuel efficient. the amount of wood i normally would use to boil 2 cups of water in an open camp fire is enough to boil a gallon of water with the emberlit. i don't want to hijack your thread so if you want to see more of it, i took it out on a 2-nighter recently: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/928770-another-2-nighter-emberlit-stove-and-happy-feet!

This is indeed a great post. Congrats on the 9 buddy. I'm really thinking of grabbing one soon. Just never really fit my set up but sure looks fun to play with. Thanks for the pics.

Completely understood. It's an aquired taste (and a damn good one) if you can muster up the courage to give it a try. My mom used to slice it thin, egg wash it, then bread it in cracker crumbs and fry it in a skillet. Canned heart attack, but it tastes great.

Way to get the BK9 right to work! I'm not partial to Spam, either, but it packs well, so sometime it'll end up in the rations.

Nice plinker, we are not allowed to have nice banana clips like that up here, just piddlin' little ones.,

Thrillbilly just pull the trigger on the 9, best of the beckers imop.
Everyone talks about it chopping but it is also a great slicing blade. I use it for knocking heads/tails off salmon and have used it fleshing out a deer and a few beef hips, really good for cutting whole ribeye's for steaks evenly with the grind and blade height.

I have said it before its like the 21 century version of the mountain mans butcher/hudson bay knife.......an affordable do-all.
