Custom 1095 recurve by Matt Bailey bought here on BF. 6 1/2" blade. 11" OAL. 5/32" thick. Handle is stabilized black ash burl. The handle is amazing, fits my hand perfectly. This is my first custom blade not counting the ones my brother has made for me. Definately not my last either! I've caught the custom bug, I'm just too picky to settle for less than exactly what I envision.

I'll post some action pics also, right now I'm too busy admiring this blade to go out and hack with it.

Very nice. I've seen lots of Matts work posted, and they look rock solid. That wood is beautiful too. Getting the first scratch is always the toughest :D

Also, those little tickets are fun. I have a tiny mailbox, so have to go and pick up just about any knife I get! Unless it's UPS, they'll leave it on my patio. But it is like winning the Golden Ticket.

Super nice looking, that's a beauty. One tip.....get a larger mailbox and avoid all future article too large for your box notices:)

That is bad ass...I like the hamon!

Well I couldn't resist. No matter how beautiful a knife is "if it isn't used it's useless".

So i took a couple inches off my test tree and then headed into the kitchen. Since the blade is 5/32" there wasn't the heft you'd find in a thicker blade. but it still did pretty well. For slicing though it was excellent, and a good camp knife should be able to do both. :D
