New blades on my old stockman.

While we're on the subject, does anyone know what case charges to reblade a knife? I have an old jackknife that I have used and resharpened over the years until the pen blade looked like a needle, and it finally broke.

I had a #6265 two-blade hunter re-bladed back around 2005-2006 or so. They did a fantastic job - the old blades were worn down to the point that they couldn't take a decent edge any more. IIRC, cost was something like $8. per blade, plus shipping. For a total of about $22., I basically got a brand new knife. It's still one of my favorites.

If your knife is just a favorite user, I'd say call Case, see if they have the parts needed, and send it in.

Hey Otis, you got lots of life left in that knife! By some peoples standards, it's just nicely broken in. :D

If the high blade is a bother, just take a few very careful passes on the kick with a small file. Take a few swipes, then close and check blade seating. If still high, take another one or two swipes.

Hit the kick with a file a little bit. Check often. I do this on every CASE stockman I get since the sheepsfoot sits too proud for me.

Here is a pic of the last knife I bought in NC. It was 2005 or 2006. The box the knife came in says this knife was made in 2005. I've never carried the knife. Does anyone here carry such a small knife?
