NEW BM 730S Axis Lock

I was playing with my 730s again tonight....it is buttery smooth.....and I love the way it fits in my hand....best folder I've had for the price....

Just picked up a pre-production 730, even though it is partially serrated, and I paid full retail. Love it.

The blade to handle ratio is not efficient, but the blade is the right length and the handle is the right length, so it works for me.

The edge geometry is standard Benchmade. It will be only a B cutter, B+ with resharpening to under 40 degrees included. But the edge will be fairly durable.

I think the sculpted handle and two-tone G-10 are very cool.

It doesn't look much like the Ares to me. I think it looks better. Nice work Allen and Benchmade.

I went back and looked at the 730 again. I fell in love with the 720 at first sight, but the 730 just does not do that for me, even with maroon scales. Maybe a plain blade would help, but I suspect not. I just doesn't sing.

Just got my First Production Run 730 today from gpknives.com. Their service ROCKS

Ordered on Thursday and it was in my mailbox today (Saturday).

I do however have one small gripe I guess. Well, maybe two
wink.gif

1. after seeing how dark the handle is firsthand, it makes me wish I had got the BT coated version. In my mind it would match the dark colored handles better.

2. Here we go go AGAIN about the thumbstuds :P Too small, and since mine is a satin finish blade, I think they should have used satin thumbstuds.

If anyone here has the 730BT and maybe wants to trade, send me an e-mail.

I just got my production 730SBT from Grand Prairie knives and in MY own opion, this knife rocks! I like the overall shape and yes, even the color of it. It definitely goes well with the black BT2 coating. I would definitely like to see it in blue and perhaps green though. The Axis lock is smoother than my 710SBT. The blade is still made of ATS-34 and I have yet to see a 154CM blade. Here's pics of my baby:

Damn Nightglock, excellent pictures as usual. Are you a photographer ? Did you use a Digital Camera for the pics, if so what one ?

Cheers

Llamedos, I would call myself an amateur photographer. It has been an artform for me. For my artistic expressions, I use a Canon Elan II with 2 lens: 28-105mm and 100-300mm. For my digital photography, I use my new Canon Powershot A50. I've been a self-taught photographer for a while (reading books and magazines). I like to take pics of my knives from different angles with different exposures. You've just got to use your imagination. Anyways, thanks for your complements on my pics. Here's a link to my photo album for you guys to enjoy: http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=234554&a=1741843
