New Boutique Hatchet and Knife???

Good luck to them.
I made respectable money cashing in on product I had no real interest or belief in. I wont fault anybody trying to cash in on whatever fad of the day is.

As far as that axe, I would have to see in person.
But firstly I am suspicious & Its awfully steep price compared to competitors of known quality.

Another thing I noticed is their axe heads seem to ( from the pictures ) be hung inconsistently as one or 2 are cocked at different angles.

Also with their very homemade looking 70$ file knife ( looks like I made it 😁 )
It's says it's made in the USA, and to me they look like they were made from brand new files ( how would they be able to get enough of the exact same type of used files to make them out of )
And if that's the case they're either wasting the last of the US made Nicholson and simonds files ( what a shame if that is the case ), or are using cheap imported files like the Mexican made Nicholson's.
If the file wasn't made in the USA and they don't state the use of foreign materials, what else will they be dishonest about.

Bob, it's an internet startup company, here's some info that I found from an earlier post you might have missed.

. . .
Didn't miss the link in post #7. I posted two screenshots from their website where contact info is available.

. . . What do you think of the new Hol colors? http://bit.ly/1M9cXPV
I don't know what this refers to. I guess I will have to contact my personal skateboard consultant (aka grandson) about this. :)

Made by Anza I'm pretty sure. No clue where they're sourcing their files, but it heavily implies if not outright states in one of their videos that they're using new ones.

The they're almost definitely using imported files and should state made in USA of global materials, or state somewhere exactly where they're files come from.
If the gripper knife was under 20$ I'd probably by one so I didn't have to spend 2hrs in my garage to make it ( but for 70$ I can just make one , and if I had a full sized belt sander I'd be able to make it much better )

Undoubtedly made by anza. Notorious for file knives. They are good knives. I've had a couple. However, that price is pretty steep for one.

Strikes me as a 'lowest bidder-sourced' hatchet. I can't judge steel but when a hatchet handle is created straight and there's no butt swell you know that whoever set up to make it cut every imaginable production corner. Having said that, for $25 I'd consider tossing one in the trunk or tackle box but for $100+ it'll continue to collect dust at their warehouse.

They are apparently made in Signal Hill, CA. The knife blades are AEB-L steel. Here's a link to the formulation.

https://www.alphaknifesupply.com/zdata-bladesteelS-AEBL.htm

This type of steel is used in making razor blades, surgical scalpels and can be heat-treated from ~HRC 58 - HRC 65 depending if you Austenitize or use Cryogenic Treating.

Beyond that. The folding knife is a basic design and if heat-treated correctly and all the parts assembled properly, it appears to be a solid semi-production friction folding knife.

If you look at their axe pictures, nevermind their paintjob, they are not highly identical.
Even the hang angle of one seems more open than its companions.

I just ordered a hatchet. Looks interesting to me. I have there duck canvas hat and freaking love it lol. It's super comfortable. And I've used a striker fixed blade. Cute well. It's cool to hear Geoff rowley (older skater) story about hunting and eating clean meats. That's how he got into hunting.
