Needless to say, the piece sold in 5 milliseconds. Unfortunately, not to me... :grumpy:

Beautiful, distinctive and uniquely "Fogg". Congrats to the lucky new owner.

A prime example of Fogg's eye-popping work ! Very very nice !

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm thinkin' Kohai999 was all over this one and is the new owner.

This one is drop-dead gorgeous. It's a little uncharacteristic from Don. The shape of the blade is so..... lethal...... and the handle is so feminine and elegant. I would have pulled the trigger also.

Congrats to whomever!

but I only collect 2 knives from each maker in my collection, and seldom, very seldom do I break $1,000 for a knife from anybody.

I own the Clouds Bowie which you can see on Don's website, and the first single edged shiv that Don made when he started making knives again, in Wenge and cord wrap.

I was very impressed with this piece, and called Don yesterday to talk to him about it. The ebony was originally cut for a piano, ten years ago, and has undergone some stabilizing, so it is probably significantly more solid than most.
Loved the carving, loved the hamon, simply a wonderful knife.

Whoever owns it should be proud.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

a fantastic knife to be sure. for me the high points are the clean, understated fittings and the excellent blade (long clipped point, amazing hamon). oh yeah, the carved handle is pretty impressive too.

it looks more traditional in design than recent bowies & fighters i've seen from him. the yakuza bowies, eb fighter & g fighter seem, to my eye, to have a very strong eastern influence. this one, while retaining some eastern influence, has an almost traditional bowie shape. 'new american bowie' is an appropriate name for it.

as coop noted, elegant & aggresive. one of my favorite fogg bowies (and it's awfully hard to chose, given the choices).

I emailed Don about this piece as well..never has a piece moved me as much..never.

certainly a nice knife.................the man has more talent than I can understand.

I cant see calling it a bowie, it is just too severe and too pointed for that in my opinion.

He has made knives that have made me marvel...........I cannot say this is one of them!!
I am not trying to be negative here, just expressing my opinion!!!!
