I have no idea what brand of thread locking compound Spyderco uses or whether there's and "industry standard" color code for thread locking compounds? Do you?
FWIW, while I haven't received my brown Native yet, I've removed and relocated a couple dozen Spyderco barrel bolt clips over the years and have never damaged a screw head or required anything other than two nickels and a bit of finger moxie to change them over.
Have you tried heating the locktite? I do it with a small lamp that's quite warm for a bit.
I just got a new (dealer exclusive?) brown Native 5 in CTS-XHP. This is my first Native and first pinned knife in general.

I just got my Native from Knife Center and like you I do not have a lot of experience with pinned knives. I noticed in the picture above that the pin that goes through your pivot looks a lot like mine. On the clip side the pin is not fully rounded and the edges seem to almost flare upward. The pin does not sit down into recess and those edges are a little sharp. Is your pin like this, and can anyone tell me if this is normal for pinned Spydies? Thanks.
