New Buck 55

I love the little 55. It feels much smaller and thinner than a 110, and is much lighter. Still, the blade shape and the brass make it feel like a "real" Buck.

Yes, thanks for the comparison pic. I've been looking at those Buck knives too, but found the 110 a bit too big for EDC. The one above the 55 is a 112?

Yes it is a 112 & modified by someone, not the factory.

The pic shows from top to bottom: Buck 111, Buck 110, Buck 112 (modded by me with a chainsaw file) and a Buck 55

My Buck 55 (the subject of this thread) is tight with no blade play.

Tip: Sometimes whey you run across a knife with a touch of blade play, wrap the blade end bolster in a piece of leather or heavy cloth, put it in a vise, and give it a very, very, light squeeze.

I've never had to do that with any of my Buck knives but have had to do it with one GEC and a couple of other knives.

Good looking little knife , every knife guy needs a 110 , or it's little brother the 55 :D

Yea , I've never had play on my 110's over the years unless it was something I did to cause it.

I always think of the 110 as a sheath knife, and the 55 looks like it would be much more manageable in a pocket. Those comparison pics really illustrate that as well. Thanks for sharing, and congrats on the new knife!

It's a very practical knife due to the compact size.

I had one for two days... very sharp it was .An E-Bay seller sent me the wrong knife and so I sent it back for the one I ordered. Then he tells me, "you needn't have bothered sending it back, here's the knife you ordered" Perhaps one can be too honest sometimes...

Nice piece or rock it rests on Ed, what is it, some quartz?
