This thread is not about the new 09 knives that Buck is about to roll out. It's a tell us what Buck knives you have gotten in 09;).

So as I'm starting this thread...I'll go first:cool:. My first Buck knife for 09 was just delivered. It is one of the Bass Pro Shop bone 110's, when I was at their store just after Christmas they only had a display model and would not sell it to me because they could not find it's box:rolleyes:.

So I placed an order for one via catalog. It's a fantastic looking knife. But, the one I was shipped is not like the one I looked at in the store. The one I looked at in the store had a brass frame, just like all of the BPS bone 110's I've seen photo's of here on this forum. The one I was shipped has a Nickel frame and looks much better that the brass ones IMHO. I must ask the question....have any of you seen any other Nickel BPS bone 110's?

My second 09 Buck knife. Today we went to the flea market in Sacramento and I found a 2 dot 112 in good condition. The fellow only wanted $15 for it...good deal says I:D. It has a few scratches on the blade and a few dings in the brass. I will give it a quick wipe down and post a pic with the 110 BPS bone.

I hope a few of you other fellow buck nuts will tell us about your 09 Bucks:thumbup:.

Interesting jb. The picture on the BP website appears to be a nickel frame, but up to this point all the talk was about brass. I would prefer nickel, maybe I will take the gamble!
My first and only '09 buck is a Buck Strider Police. I'm not too into pocket clip folders, but I kinda wanted to see what all of the G10 hype is about. I had not been too pleased with ATS-34 either, but what the heck I'll try another one. The two previous sentences prove I have a knife buying problem. Like the knife so far.

I don't have them all in my possession right now, but so far this year I've bought several. Some are still on the way to me.

100th Anniversary 501 with the medallion and in the walnut presentation case.
110 LE custom in black micarta #43 of 50
110 1991 in brown jigged bone
110 LE in purple spiney oyster
110 with a 560U blade
110 with the Idaho stamp
532 Bucklock custom in ironwood
110 Harley Davidson "Humble Beginnings"
110 AG in stag
419 Kalinga Pro Rosewood
503 scaled in Leopard Jasper (by one of the board members)
Still waiting on my Custom shop 110 in Sambar
3-2007 110 Founders Editions in tins
3-110 basket weaves including #001

The founders editions and basket weaves (except for #001) are to be gifts for some of my crew at work.

UPDATE: I just bought 5 more of the 2007 Founders Editions on Amazon. Now I can give all the guys the same knives,,instead of mixing them up with the basket weaves.

Well fellas, I picked this up this morning on my super secret auction site nobody ever talks about. It was a pretty good deal too. TC-$26.50 I believe the sellers has several more so PM me if you want the link.

No Button Thingee so it must be a straight linerlock.

You should have a PM from me.:)

I have not personally seen the '09 catalog, but have visited with someone who has; sounds like lots of cool new stuff coming out. As has been noted here many times before: so many Bucks, so little $$$$$! :(

I agree. I wonder if the nickel silver was used just to finish out the order or if a certain percentage was purposely build that way. Seems BP would have listed them as seperate purchase options if that were true.

Heck John gets lucky again.:D:thumbup:

Plum,

The G10 one with the button thingee has a Bos ATS-34 stamp with USA under it. No model number though. I really don't know. I was surprised that it didn't have Buck USA on it on the left side. Just Buck. Could be the Blades were done in San Diego and the rest of it done in Taiwan?? And I have no idea about the one we both just bought since I haven't seen it.

If that is the case I'm OK with it. The knifemakers from Taiwan and Japan are very skilled and the quality is usually good. Maybe Joe will chime in on this question.

Here's a better picture, and some reading about it.

Buck's® High-Tech Taclite™ Lockblade
Combines Range of Features
The new TacLite folding lockback Model 886 from Buck Knives offers a rare combination of qualities and features.

It's definitely high tech with its striking design, but the laminated wood handle gives it a classic look. It's rugged and durable, yet it's very lightweight (Just 2 oz), so it's well suited to outdoor or everyday use. It has smooth open-close action, with a thumb stud, and has a liner looking system for safety in use.

The integrated thumb rest on the back of the blade provides added knife control. The blade steel is Buck's 420HC, hardened to Rc 58 for superior edge retention. The handle may be the surprise element; it' s a handsome wood laminate for good looks and durability.

A stainless steel belt/pocket clip makes it easy to carry.

Features include:
Light weight, high-tech,
One-hand opening/closing folder
Classic wood laminate handle

You know, the ones we just bought seem to have two lines down at the tang, but I can't quite make out what they say.

Thanks, it's always great to have a young pair of eyes to look at something for me.

Waiting on my new 425. Saw it on the bay for $.99 and bid more for something to do than anything else since its so small-ended up winning for $2.25-not a bad deal. May be my 10yr old daughters first Buck.
