What do you all think of the new 110 S30V in Nickel Silver and G10 scales? I believe it is called the Folding Hunter Pro. I think it looks amazing. I wonder how much it is going to cost at an online retailer?

I'm looking forward to the Auto Elite version. Wonder if the nickel silver bolsters will tarnish as easily as brass. Flitz to the rescue.

199 is price of the automatic version.

The standard 110 pro is only $99, with retail of 125.

Beautiful knife! Must have.

Its cool they are offering this model, but the SK Blades version in CPM154 is $100, too...

Coyja, thats a neat site with cool blades.

I still prefer the 110 Hunter Pro as it doesnt have the Buck inlay in handle (not my style), and while 154cm is good steel, Sv30 is super duper super steel!

Yeah I don’t love the Buck inlay, so I’m with you there, but I do like the drop point, and CPM154 is def superior to S30v.
Still, I’m happy the Buck is offering these at less than the markup it would be from the customer shop for sure.

CPM 154 is not superior to S30V, but they are in the same category, as far as I am concerned. CPM 154 does perform better than 154 CM, however, as it is a new tech version of that older steel. They have the same make up. S30V has some other nice things added that give it a slight edge (;)) in edge retention. Neither are chip prone once you sharpen past the factory edge.

S30V has a little more carbon and a lot more vanadium than CPM154. http://www.zknives.com/knives/steels/steelgraph.php?nm=CPM154, S30V&hrn=1&gm=0

?? The knife that is pictured above is the New Buck 110 AutoElite with S30v blade NS Bolsters?? The knife he's talking about is deep in the video and like Makael, I'm not sure what's special about it?

A G10 version with drop point s30v is 108.50 on bucks website.ss

Doc, I agree. They are very close. I give CPM154 the nod for it's ease of sharping. DM

You are right. CPM154 is easier to sharpen, for sure. S30V is harder but it is not terrible, once you get acquainted with its nature. I personally wish Buck would transition to CTS-XHP. It is better than both, in my opinion (and many other people) and it is not difficult to sharpen, either.

I good with either and see no reason to head another direction in steels. We're so lucky to have so many variations on a 110. Drives me crazy when I read I wish buck would do this or that.

So buck hasn't offered s30v in a 110 model before?

I think they are just making a custom run a regular item.

I think Buck is surprisingly responsive to customer demands for different handles, and different blade shapes and steels.

For a big, well established company they seem to be willing to innovate!

I am patiently waiting for a titanium bolster 110 with ironwood covers and a steel blade that will never rust or need sharpening (unless you use it to cut another knife made of the same super steel).
