New Buck Vantage???

...If those have the same opening system that the Sirus models do...I'm gotta get that S30V model...

If it's like the Vantage series, and it sure looks like it is, then it will have a liner lock. The ad says something about a new locking mechanism, however.

Some folks have complained about the liner locks looking weenie on the Vantage series. I owned the smaller one in the series and have to agree, but I would not have put mine under hard use. Maybe the larger models have a more robust lock.

That being said I liked mine alot, especially the price. Gave it away as a gift to a family member that needed one (always spreading the joy of knifeophilia).

The front bolster acts as the lock, but I have yet to see one in person. I copied this right from the ad:

The new, patent pending, Shift Mechanism lock not only provides a robust locking mechanism, but also provides a blade safety preventing the blade from accidentally opening. Closed Length: 4 3/8 in.
Blade Steel: S30V stainless steel, drop point

Looks like it may be a liner lock, I don't see any other way. Frankly, its a beautiful knife but 150 dollars retail? Sorry wouldn't pay over 50 for that.

Not a liner lock. Front bolster somehow... :) A new technically designed lock that is worth $100.00 more :D Looks sweet, but I agree I will stick with the Vantage Pro! Maybe it will be like a Sawby and we should all buy as many as we can, it will appreciate exponentially!!!!!!!!!! :D

Very interested in seeing one. I'm not the most coordinated person so will have to see if I like that lock system or not first.
