Very nice! Have you had much previous experience with 3V?

Nice score, I handled one from another member here. I really liked the feel of that one alot!

You will really enjoy your new knife. I purchased mine at the 2008 Blade Show in Atlanta, GA. I have abused mine on many occasions.

CPM 3V is a great tool steel. Unless passivated (the spontaneous formation of a hard non-reactive surface film that inhibits further corrosion-Wiki), the steel can form small pits on the surface due to rust. 3V is not on par with S30V for edge holding, but is much stronger. It may be equal to 5160 for toughness.

You should be able to find better and more accurate information than I could provide about CPM 3V elsewhere in this forum. Jerry Hossum, Dan Koster, and Tom Krein (K9 Knives) are members of this forum who use CPM 3V regularly.

I hope you will enjoy your Bushcraft as much as I have mine.

EMT_Lee,

Me neither. If I didn't have way too damn many knives already, I'd consider something like your knife or a Fehrman just to try 3V. I'll be interested to hear what you think of it.

Get a piece of glass anf some wet dry in various grits to sharpen it - once sharp - you will be VERY happy with this knife.

The sheath is NICE - who made it?

I have no idea who made the sheath. Here's another view of it, though!

Looks good, I think you will definitely like it  . So, let us know when it arrives!

That may be a homemade job - if it is - it is nice - they back stitched four stitches on the top for strength and put in a welt. Nice.

The kydex that came with it is nice too - it fits a techlock if you want to add one. Which is nice to add so that you can toss it on your belt without taking your belt off.
