So I'm about to place an order for a 5" blade semi-custom bushcraft knife. This one, to be precise:

I'll have a choice of Vanadis10, M390, or Elmax. I believe all the blades should be around 4.5 mm thick. Right now I'm leaning towards either the Vanadis10 or the M390. Looking for the best mix of impact resistance, lateral flex resistance, and corrosion resistance, in that order of importance.

I intend on beating the snot out of this knife... Batoning etc. What steel would you choose? Thanks!

not wrong forum, and it's a good question.

a word to the wise; don't get your nose out of joint if your thread isn't answered over the course of five hours- or even fifty hours!

I was planning to post some feedback to your question, do you still want it?
