With the popularity of the basic PSK knife I've decided to lengthen the whole knife to the common size of a Bushcraft knife. This really comes from a request of hollowdweller a few months back for a blade only that he is going to put handles on. I plan on two versions. A scandi grind with 1/8" thick O1 and a full convex version with 3/32" thick O1. Overall size will be 8 1/4" with a 4" cutting edge, spearpoint blade. The pic is of the 1/8" scandi. What do you think?

Scott,

Nice scandi. I like it but would prefer a more distinct or should I say pointier spearpoint that tapers to a point from further back on the spine. I love the large lanyard hole and the pin placement. Looks very practical and I'm sure it will be a big seller.

I like it too but would also prefer a little more point to it. On the PSK knife a stubby strong point makes sense to keep the length down. With a longer blade you have more room to play with it. More of a point would be better for drilling holes and fine carving work in tight spaces. Overall it is a very solid looking knife. Mac

:thumbup:Very nice, Scott. Maybe a small "sharpening choil" so people can sharpen it on a stone a little better.

Scott, you make superb knives... I don't own one, but I have used your Tusker and cordwrapped several of the PSK's for others. If I was forced to find the least appealing feature I'd have to say.... (other than the point suggestion)... that on a full size PSK like that... maybe rounding out the finger choil as it flows back into the handle would make it more comfortable in the reverse grip. Thats all I got, dude... great knife.

Thats a winner Scott. Is that my blade???

Andy, that's HD's blade. Your's is on the bench for tomorrow. You're getting the full convex.
I'm thinking A2 would also be another steel to use along with the O1.
Thanks for all the imput. I will take everyone's suggestions when I build the proto's which will be for sale.

BTW, I'm in my new shop. Everyone is welcome to stop by if you're in or passing through Maryland. Gimme a heads up and I'll give you directions.
