Here are a few pics of my new toy, Is a Bark River 1st Production run Bravo 1. The custom Kydex sheath has some cool features. Both the knife and fire steel have a Photon II led light attached to keep track of your knife and firesteel in low light conditions. The sheath has a quick release buckle, cause I will carry it on my pack's hip belt. Attached to the back is 10 feet of braided 550 cord. I cant wait to try it our, here's a few pics.

Let me know what you think.

Very very very cool. I am one of the few people that don't generally like the look of Kydex sheaths unless they are done right, and that one is definitely done right. Great taste.

That look like a good setup you got. Where did you get the sheath made? I really like the idea of the quick release for clipping on your waist belt of your pack.

very nice set up indeed... that kydex rig is just too cool... that's the guy from ebay right... i've seen some other cool sheath's/rigs he's made....

i need to get one of those bravo-1's...:D

Roger that!!!!!!!!!His name is Mike Hanzo and he does some amazing work with kydex. You can send him a knife, he will make a custom sheath, with different hanging options, firesteel holder etc, and usually can turn them around in about a week. The knife fits securely in the sheath too. Im thinking of doing the same with My TUSK

I really like his stuff, I was tempted to grab a couple of things I saw of his on ebay.

Any idea of a rough cost of a sheath without knife by him?

very nice setup. I like the green kydex. You dont see too many in color. Looks very well made. I like that Bark River too.

+1 for Mike Hanzo, I picked up a nessmuk in custom sheath a few months back. Great knife and awesome sheath. My only regret is that I ordered it before he started putting firesteel loops on everything.

I also checked that rig while searching for BRKT knives on eBay. He had quite a few more (F1 with red Kydex included). I keep the seller on my favourite sellers list just in case.

All the sheats all looked the same though... seems like he has a bunch of "blanks" and just heat-shapes them to the chosen knife. I just bought an F1 but if I had found about this guys work earlier... I might have bidded on it. Does he really craft them from scratch or just buys "blanks" somewhere else and then shapes them?

Lets see if I can answer all of those questions without forgetting any of them(its early). I have emailed him to ask if it was ok if I passed his email address around. I'm waiting to here back from him. He makes each sheath for each model knife as far as I know. I think he charges anywhere from. 50-80 dollars per sheath. In fact you can send him your own knife and he will make you a sheath using your knife to form the sheath. I'll post his contact info soon as I hear from him. Have a good one. Stay safe.

Great blade, excellent sheath but ,this maybe a small but safe request,I would add a small amount of loc-tight to every screw on the sheath just for safety sake,I had one back out and alomst lost my blade, never think to check the tension of the screws, were they torqued properly or hand tighten and the person making the sheath got distracted ? simple and fool proof suggestion.

Thanks. The sheath is actually assembled with rivets but I'd hate to lose the firesteel. I will check those though, that's a great idea. I'll use a little cornstarch (poor mans loctite) it really works.

That's a great sheath. The Bravo-1 is a cutting machine. You can even do light chopping with it. Here is mine beside the Wet Enviro Recon. My sheaths are the ordinary high ride kydex ones. I like yours better. BTW, Bark River is coming out with a 7" Bravo-2 and a stainless version of the Bravo-1.
