Hey, Paul.
What camera did you finally settle on? The photos look pretty good, you just have to be careful with the flash. The best bet is to work outdoors in subdued sunlight if possible, or else place two lights set @ about a 45 degree angle to the subject, to provide even lighting with a minimum of glare or reflection. I'd especially like to see some more photos of the Calvary knife. And don't forget a tripod for the sharpest detail.

Enjoy the new toy.

frank, I got a minolta dimage 5.... I figured the flash was giving me a hard time... I am using a tripod and have only done about a dozen pictures so far... I have alot to learn! As far as outside- hmmm its been freezing rain most of today and its been dark almost since I started playing with the camera :) this one has alot of manual and optional settings and I don't have much of a clue yet. I wanted one I could grow into. If these first few are and indicator- I will be happy...
