I just came across this new series from Case - sambar stag scales and CV blades. They are saying September delivery. I put my order in for this one, which is a pattern I've been waiting for, the mini Wharncliffe Trapper, single blade:

Looking forward to September!

(I just hope that the stag is as good as is shown in the stock photo. I've gotten some pretty lame stag
on some Cases before...)

Awsome! Where did you read about these? Got a link

That's a really good looking knife. The stag on the knife pictured looks awsome. Yep, I know what you mean about the stag on some Case knives but at least Case uses genuing stag and mostly good stag at that.

Those Wharncliffe blades are really handy blades too.

Wow really? That is gonna be a great seller. Most people have been wanting a stag/cv option. I know I have. If they offer this in a stockman I will be all over it.

I really don't know what to say about this one. It is like Case is.....listening. :)

What a great looking knife.

THEY GOT THE 5347!!! Man that is awesome. Great move by Case. I am getting one. I was gonna hold off on buying knives for the year but this is too much. Time to sell some knives.

Now if you can convince them to go back to two backsprings...;)

Case aficionados will know where to look - otherwise feel free to PM me.

Looks like they will have a medium stockman (3 7/8), peanut, trapper, Texas Jack,
and the mini Wharncliffe trapper.

Found them! at SHC. As much as I love wharncliff's....gonna pre order the stockman. Thanks for the heads up!

It's a good start! When they do the Seahorse (Wharncliffe) then they are REALLY listening!

Especially on the Congress patterns. Four is a couple too many

Tom, I was just checking with my digital calipers... A delrin scaled version from the 70's (two springs) is a couple of hundredths of an inch thinner than a late 90's delrin model (four springs). Approximately .52" vs. .54"

Though it doesn't sound like much, when you put them side by side it really is noticeable, as I'm sure you already know.

The snap, however, doesn't seem much different despite the thinner springs on the four spring version.

I know to a lot of folks it does not make much of a difference, but I really like my Cases in CV. This is awesome news.

Zuchus, that's a very nice knife. Please post a review when you receive it. I'd like to know about fit and finish. It's a model that I would like to have, if the quality is good.

Agreed and thanks for the measurements. A couple points I feel detract also:

1. Not as "swaybacked" as the original. Much flatter backsprings

2. Wider liners and bolsters - this gives it most of the bulk about 1/8"

3. Hafting has changed where the final product is slab-sided. Not as barrel shaped in cross section as the old ones.

Still a fine knife and great to use.

I am liking the new stag and CV line. May have to pick one up
