New Case Stockman with blade rub

I bought a Case medium trapper in yellow delrin. Both blades rubbed and it had a gap in the liners. It was cheap enough so it takes garage/shop duty. I've been wary of buying another Case knife since then. But then I see some beautiful examples here on the forum and I think I'll try another but only if I inspect it first.

This is a four yr old thread...check the dates when started next time before you respond....
Most time they are no longer timely and it’s best to start brand new...

I believe this type of complaint belongs in the Good Bad and Ugly subforum.

Still a lot of current information here.
The issues brought up in the first post are. still a valid concern on 2018 production Case (and other brands) stockman's.
Their posts were on topic, and added to the conversation, so no foul. :)

CASE EE Stockman I bought recently is a superb item, can find nothing wrong with it and it cost 55 USD delivered from your country the US to mine in Europe, a total gem

I bet our forefathers would have gotten a good laugh at our concern about blade rub.
You're right about that. It is trivial for a user knife, but Case's star spangled series is so beautiful, I'm going to build a display specifically for them. I will have every model in the series and am purchasing multiple of the canoe model for Father's day and my son's graduation.

OK I understand and I think you'll find CASE's repair service very accommodating, they seem to have a genuine desire to fix things and not some business speak slogans about service.

Thanks, Will

This picture was taken when this Case CV 3375 Yellow Delrin Stockman was brand new and fresh out of the box. It was perfect. No cracks, chips, gaps, and the blades were sharp and ready to go right out of the box and then "Oh My God", I noticed blade rub on the Sheepfoot Blade. What to do, What to do. I could go out to my pole barn and hang myself with a new rope or maybe slit my throat with the Clip Blade or send it to Case to have them polish out the blade rub. Oh wait. The blade rub is so common with 2-Spring, 3-blade stockman knives I'd be sending it to Case on a continuous rotating cycle for blade rub polishing so it would never be available for use.

If ya got blade rub on a 2-spring, 3-blade Stockman just get over it and use the heck out of it

I have a Schade premium stockman from the 1930-40s. It is beat to hell and even the peachseed bone is worn down. There isn't anything close to a full blade and it's been brutalized over the years by some power equipment. Even the punch has been blunted. Guess what, no blade rub. Maybe with modern knives blade rub in a stockman is to be expected, but my 80 yo Schrade doesn't have it. I also have a Remington Frankenknife small stockman, built by God knows who, out of 3 blades from ~1940. No blade rub.

I wasn't going to mention it, but my 3 large RR stockman's (4.25 inches closed, 3 blades, two springs) don't have blade rub, either.

Lotta claims about no blade rub but no pictures to back the claims up. Just sayin.

I have no reason to lie, and believe me, if I could post pictures, I would.
Besides, I have a couple 2 , 3, 4, and even a single bladed knife or three (five? ... six? ...) that has minor blade or liner rub, from a couple of manufacturers.
Life's too short to fret about little stuff like that.
I don't expect "perfection" on anything. I just expect something that does the job it was designed to, when I buy it. :)

Sorry, but I'm not a liar and I am not set up for pictures. You'll just have to take it on faith. Don't get me wrong, I live happily with flawed knives. Never owned a Swiss Army knife that didn't rub after awhile. Still have the one I bought as a teen with my first winnings at a dog race somewhere near Mulingar. It's got nice blade rub, can't remember if it started that way though :)

Nobody called ya a liar - just funnin with ya. Why can't ya post pictures? Have you tried "Imgur"?
My "Smart" phone does not get along with any of the photo hosting sites. :(
Eventually I'll break down and get a Gold membership. Maybe that will cure the problem. :)
