Not too bad swings well, locks up nice handles and blade are think like the old bm customs. Blade is 3/16 I dont have a tape to meassure the handles right now, much better than a jag.

Looks ok, I would like to see how it holds up. Wonder when I will be able to get ahold of one. Any way looks like the handles are to far apart and the pin is huge.

I picked one of those up at Bladeshow. If the pins hold up, it will be the best buy in a balisong anywhere. This thing is really well-made. In fact, at Bladeshow, I'd carefully pull it out of the Bill's Custom Case case that I had for my good balisongs and carefully hand it to people with the "Stainless China" marking down so that they wouldn't see it and the response was always, "Wow! An old Bali-Song Cutlery custom. How much did you pay for that." They I'd turn it over and answer "$25".

The handles are milled out of solid SS stock. The blade is generic SS and doubtlessly not good metal at all, but not bad for a flipping toy. The inserts are a horrible black plastic material. But, that can easily be replaced.

This knife is, right down to the little hole in the latch bar, an exact duplicate of one of the original BS Cutlery customs that you can see on my website. I'm convinced that the "designer" of this knife just copied it right off of my site.

Anyway, as I say, the pins are my concern. I've been beating it pretty good since getting it and it's still going. I'm actually pretty excited about this thing and have been meaning to post some pictures of it.

Does anybody have any leads as where to buy one of these knives?
Did anybody who bought one from the bladeshow ask for the phone number's of the guy selling them,or the guy whose importing them?
I'd definately like to buy one or more just to have something to beat on if someone can point me in the right direction of where to buy them.TIA

I have the card of the dealer I got it from somewhere I can post the info. Chuck did you see how they were inmporting them? Email me if ya want to know it's kinda funny.

It sure looks like the bali that was on bladeauction, it even has the dovetail inserts and the little round indention on the latch to put the lubrication. It looks like someone spent there time copying it from BS Cutlery or PC.

It flips really well, if only it could cut anything. It has a really high grind maybe like 45deg. I don't know if I can put a cutting edge on it without a power unit, I'll probabaly just give up. IF it had an edge (or I could put one one it) I would probaly put it into the carrying rotation. SO that's is how much I like it . And I have 42(s), 45(s) 44(s) taylors etc. But it is definally worth what I paid for it to flip.

Notice, please, the blase of the blade just above the ricasso. Our Chinese friends copied the design almost exactly, right down to the little hole in the latch, but they made one critical mistake. Something is missing.

If I have one, I will put a higher grind on it and create a higher blade edge to let some 'kick' effect on it ..

Or just tape aluminium to the 'kick' area ..

Just an idea though. I am waiting for someone importing it here ..

Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Finally it looks like kids just starting out and people with no money are going to have a good alternative to the Bear or Jag.

Ah yes I was wondering if anyone else bough tone of these. Gollnick and I bought the plain edge version

it's a very cool april fools trick or whatnot.. but I admit I was very surprised.. the guy behind the counter was flippin git and ofcourse my bali trained eyes were "WOAH! CUSTOM!" I think it's a GREAT copy and a steal at the price. Mine's held up quite well... a wave of these shoul dbe a big hit..

weel I wanted a plain edge too, but the dealer I got it from had ordered only combos :-( It's kinda weird I was at a layover at Atlanta when most of ya'll were probably getting into town for the show.

Chuck,

after sometime ... how is it holding up .. and how easy to maintain the blade sharpness .. i.e. against a Jag or Taiwan Rostfrei?

I got one of these from Josh at Knifezilla and it seems to be pretty solid........I've got an original, i.e., black micarta, WeeHawk, and yes, the plastic plug in the latch ;). I'm going to take some pics of them side by side and do a comparison. The cheapie does have 3/16" pins so they should hold up well; it doesn't have tang pin pockets milled in the back of the handles- the tang pin has flats on it :barf:. I'll try and put something up on Friday.

Is your latch also about 1/2 centimeter too long for the handles, at least in the closed position? I'm not too happy with this knife personallly
