Got me a Fox Golok Hitam Machete last week (I've been eyeballing it for many moons and finally threw caution to the wind and ordered one) and I love it! I spent all weekend clearing out the backyard of unwanted shrubbery. I was a little concerned about the handle shape, but after 2 days of chopping there are no blisters on my paws.

Very sharp right out of the box. High quality sheath. I have a new favorite chopper that doesn't weigh me down like my RTAK or kukri.

That's UGLY but in kind of a good way ;) What's the blade length/material and where does it balance?

I too am interested in the specs. Also, the MSRP. Overall, I like it, it looks like good ergos, and if looks count, tough.
EDIT, I did a quick check around, were did you buy it, if you dont mind telling?

Let's see... It balances about 1 1/2 to 2 inches in front of the handle.
Overall length: 14 1/8"
Blade length: 9" - 6mm thickness
Steel: Cobalt vanadium stainless steel N690Co HRC 58-60

The blade is coated with a DLC process. Is a special coating that makes the blade very resistent to salt corrosion and increases the outside hardening to HRC 72-75. (From the Fox website)

This thing is tough, I dinged it on gravel and fence wire and there's nary a scratch on the coating (which is smooth like teflon).
