New cockfighting knives announced

I live in the Midwest and see waaaay more animal cruelty in the factory farms most here get their food from, so unless you don’t touch Tyson chicken and won’t eat a piece of store bought bacon (looking at you Hormel), crying about cock fighting is REALLY hypocritical.

*add…no I’m not condoning animal combat, just being realistic.

Sarcasm is hard to read so I'll just assume it. See photo below.View attachment 1570358
Tremendous example of screwed up beauty :p🤩

As for all the other 'ethical' arguments, each person has their own moral compass: transgressions look appalling, acceptance looks obvious. I dislike any intentional cruelty-however 'natural' My parents taught me that it's very easy to be the many against the few, but is it right?

The knife is not to my taste anyway, regardless of the other implications- it's tasteless & kitsch 😁

I believe Mike was simply saying not to get on a high horse about something that's perfectly legal in other places... I've had to separate roosters in my flock multiple times. Roosters fight, period. The most aggressive ones at my place wind up in the freezer.

Maybe you could go start an ambiguous thread in gkd "Spurs on roosters, Explain".

Some things are legal in some countries therefore pitting animals against each other to fight to the death for human entertainment and profit is justified.

Because laws don't change to reflect the contemporary morality of a society right.

Please tell me what shixt-hole countries pitt animals legally so I never find myself providing them any kind of financial support.

Are these for real?
Surely any person wishing to amass a collection of cockfighting accoutrements would be looking for original historic items....still with bits of feather and skin stuck to the blades....and patina of blood.
I lk probably buy one ...it will easily adapt to my relatively modern spirt of Narwhalefighting.....rasping of the tusks and honing the flippers.....its ok the water is so cold they dont feel a thing..

This is the second request to discuss the knives, and take the other discussion elsewhere. I don't want to have to close the thread.

They are advertised as commemorative knives honoring the roots of Appalachian history. I don't think they are intended for actual use of any kind, since cockfighting is illegal in all 50 states. There is a large collector base for these style of knives due to their uniqueness.

Queen used to make this pattern. One run was for a fighting club. Per a knife dealer about 10 years ago, they were real popular amomg cock fighters in PA and on the Delmarva peninsula. He sold them at fights. They also still have fights in the midwest.

What he said. Discuss the knives or stay out of the thread.

Sorry ...i got carried away....has there ever been a more job specific knife ever made...?...pruners, loomfixers, fruit testers...but the cocker takes it one step further.....interestingly Joker Knives make a Cocker...but its a big locking clasp drop(i think) point ..

I have a few of these rooster style knives in the Tuna Valley stamp. In my display at knife shows they attract a lot of attention. Many people have never seen one before.
