Not a fan of the plastic sheath, and the handle inserts can be replaced. Giving this one serious consideration. I don't need it, but....

The 52100 is nicely heat-treated, and plenty tough. No reason not to get it. And, for those who say an integral handle with exposed metal can get too hot, or too cold, to handle, there's these things called gloves. I'm surprised you haven't heard of them.....

At that price its almost a steal, I saw that same thing listed on midways website. If I hadn't picked up some knives, and blades to build large knives, I would be ordering one. I'll kick myself later no doubt.

I finally folded and just ordered one from the same vendor you mentioned. Every once in a while they have absolute blowout pricing and I have yet to be burned...
