This was part of a batch of knives I got directly from Cold Steel during a "Parking Lot" sale. I bought several knives, brand new, with no boxes or red stickers. Cold Steel was transitioning away from their excellent proprietary high carbon Carbon V knives and going t to outsource to Japan and unfortunately. later China.
This knife has never been used or carried or demonstrated and is about 20+ years old. There is minor wear on the rivets on the sheath and on the strap rivet. There is a small chip in the baked on finish near the words "Carbon V" on the tang. This knife came loose in a box of 40 or so other knives so hence, the minor wear.
Also for sale is a Recon Tanto Carbon V, USA new in blister plastic display package. $124.00 + you pay $21.00 for a Large USPS Flat Rate Priority Mail box with tracking included.
I personally bought a few of these knives on base many years ago. Not a Factory Second.
Opening the plastic package to take more pictures would ruin the casing and I've not done so.
